Did you ever get it figured out?
Saw this post when looking for throat remedies..
A few months ago got a really bad sore throat that I had to miss my graduation!! I was in the hospital with an insane fever and crazy sore throat... They took blood and everything and couldn't find anything so they just confirmed it was a viral infection and I got dehydrated and it got worse..
Anyways last week I got the same thing with crazy pain and had to go back.. They gave me antibiotics and steroids (which seem to be the only things that work) & A week later my sore throat is back, I haven't finished the antibiotics , but I am over having a sore throat.. I believe I have to get my tonsils removed..

me too- my left tonsil is always swollen and today i have white patches on my other tonsil and had the same issue just a couple months ago. its so annoying

Hi, I had a similar problem last year. It was scary and no one could diagnose me. I recently came across an article about f-throat. It is a bacterial infection that is often not diagnosed. I'm pretty positive that is what I had. I'm disappointed that more doctors do not know about it.

Swollen tonsils can be caused by other viruses too.
I am negative for strep and mono but still have swollen tonsils and tonsil stones.

What does it mean if I have swollen tonsils and there are white spots on them, and it's hard to breathe, but the doctor says it's not strep throat?
