However, I've been off the Effexor (still on Wellbutrin and Clonazepam) since Oct. 15. My post-withdrawl symptoms were interesting at frst, but now intolerable. I had oneday of hypomania (I haven't bee diagnosed as bipolar -- depression is my specialty), one day of incredible rage, don't sleep as well (could be the Wellbutrin), but recently I had the most overblown bout with paranoia (over preceived rejection) and anger I've ever had. I know that normally I'm extra sensitive to rejection, but this was completely out of line. I hurt people (emotionally) with it. I was so parnoid that I wanted to kill myself and changed my Will. It's the closest I've ever come to suicide. :( I hate it. I hated the rage, and I'm irritable most of the time. I had hoped the Wellbutrin would work as an antidepressant and override the Effexor withdrawl symptoms, but it doesn't seem to be doing that.
I also seem to have some post-SSRI sexual side effects. Delayed orgasm, mainly. I'm very lucky to have only delayed orgasm. One person in the PSSD ( ***edited by moderator*** web addresses not allowed -- PSSD stands for post-SSRi sexual dysfunction) group has already killed himself virtually before our very eyes (he was completely sexually nonfunctional) and another posted an announcement that he was going to do it soon, but I think, so far, we've talked him out of donig it so soon after withdrawing (11 mon off the drug)(I'm not sure which antidepressant he was on).
I feel that Effexor permanently destroyed part of my brain. So do other people at the PSSD site . We need research into fixing the damage, and the pharmaceutical companies should fund it (without any strings), or be heavily fined, with the money going toward research to restore our emotional and sexual function.
I'm all in for a cass-action suit.
I am in touch with someone who wants to pursue a class action suit. We have all been badly damaged by Effexor and we need to take action for all our suffering. I am going to forward your email to Michael Fearon from Canada. Please contact me back if you have any questions. He is going to get a lawyer that won't charge us unless he wins the lawsuit.

I was on the highest allowable doses of Effexor for 7 years. It was 7 years of hell being on it and even worse trying to get off of it. I have been off of
Effexor for 8 years now but I still feel the after affects of it as it did damage to my entire system and I still get 'brain shaking' symptoms now and then. I would
love to see Justice come to Wyeth who literally destroyed my life by being the irresponsible, evil and greedy parmacutical company that they are. If there is any hope of recourse, someone please let me know. Debbie from Alberta, Canada.

Worst of all, I became a compulsive gambler and sex addict who uncontrollably spent $300K plus at casinos and on prostitution. I had never done these things before and these medications ruined everything by creating impulses that couldn't be controlled. I am now stable, but the damage has been done. I still remain on an SSNRI (Cymbalta), which doesn't cause the retrograde for me, but hasn't completely resolved the impulsiveness. However, without receiving legal counsel, I do not want to change medication at this time. Is anyone aware of class action lawsuits against these companies for these types of issues?
