Hi, Lortab contains an opioid, since it is combination of analgesic or pain reliever acetaminophen and hydrocodone. You need to take it right as prescribed to use it safely. It rarely causes addiction. Opioids medications can lead to feeling of pleasure, when attached to certain receptors in the brain. They produce euphoria. Side effects include drowsiness, constipation, and, depending upon the amount taken. They can also lead to depression of breathing. Chronic use of Lortab can result in tolerance, so you will need more and more of this drug to get the same effect.
