I just got married 2 weeks ago and my husband and I were both virgins. I bled for about 5-6 days on the honeymoon. Now I am 2 days late on my period. I am on Loestrin (a 24 day pill) so I'm only supposed to have a 4 day period, but it still hasn't started yet. Could I be pregnant or did losing my virginity offset my period?
Hi Kellbell,
It was SOOOO refreshing to see that you were both virgins. What a MAGNIFICENT bonding you both have and will have. Congrats on your marriage !!!
I have a couple of questions for you. How long have you been on the Loestrin? Have you taken birth control before? Sometimes the Loestrin at first can make your periods a little "off", due to your body getting used to them (if you havent taken it before). Sometimes also losing your virginity may offset your body. Were your periods regular before you were married?
It is really amazing to see how sometimes the birth control can mess with your cycles. When you mentioned bleeding 5-6 days, had you started the Loestrin yet? It is probably just the pill. I hope it helps some. Keep posted on the possibility if you are pregnant. How exciting !!
Blessings to you and your new hubby!!

I had been taking the loestrin for about a month and a half and my periods were somewhat regular before I started taking it. I have a dr's appointment today so I'll keep you posted on what I find out! Thanks for the help!
I went to the doctor and I am not pregnant! They said that Loestrin is such a low dose that there is no way for anything to build up in your uterus (which is what comes out when you are on your period) So I am really excited! They said most women don't even have a period when on this birth control!
THAT REALLY HORRIBLE
Hi, can losing your virginity cause a delay in your period and for how long?
