No one knows what is wrong with you - you could go to several medical specialists and they probably wouldn't know. I've had heart issues for years - tachycardic, bradycardic (sp?), arrythmic, vibrating sensation, been to CT scans, ECG's, EEG's, MRI's, ultrasounds, nerve conduction studies...no one knows why my heart beats irregularily. I've worn the holter moniter for three days, one week, two weeks, to no avail. I've had a stress done and NOTHING. They say everything is normal - chances are you are normal and it is just something you need to live with. End of story...that is the way it is...would love to provide some hope here but I've read thousands of posts hoping to find some answers to my questions and nothing. Keep trying I guess and I hope you have better luck than I did.

i have loud heart beat. sometimes i find it difficult to sleep with the noise, but a few weeks ago it did not happen and th eheart was beating calmly. it was wonderful. it lasted for a few hours thats it. i know what the problem is and i know the solution too but i somehow refuse to act towards it, rather choosing to travel the lonely pleasurable long way around. the reason is stress. for those few hours i did not have stress. i was truly peaceful and confident about myself. anyone can control their stress but we just chose not to. when we understand this, we are on our way to recovery, be it slow or instant. knowing whats really important in life. knowing that we hurt ourselves or others in the process and believe me, sometimes, that experience is the only way for some people to learn.

One additional possible cause is intracranial hypertension.

Adderol is an amphetamine based drug that will definitely increase your heart rate and it will only make the problem worse. I have the same problem you guys are having and i've had it for months now. My suggestion would be to quit taking adderol and stay away from any similar drugs. No i am not a doctor but i know a lot about adderol. I took it for 3 years for adhd

Many people don't have the money to go to a doctor. It has also been my experience that doctors would rather write a prescription for pills instead of spending the time figuring out what's really wrong. Unless you have a broken bone or something obvious they aren't much help. I only see homeopathic practitioners now.

I'm not scared at doctors, I'm just scared at bills to pay

I'm much older than you, but for the last five years my heart pounds for hours each day. I can also hear and feel it beating harder and faster any time I eat, wake up, or do any kind of exercise, even if it's just climbing stairs. I had a few tests at the doctor, but they can't find anything seriously wrong. I am tired a lot too. I guess it must be anxiety, but I hate having this all the time, every day, and hearing my heartbeat is unnerving. I'm sorry you have this too. Did you talk with a doctor, by any chance? Maybe your problem is anxiety, or another cause that isn't serious. If it's a blood pressure problem and diabetes, you should at least talk with a doctor about it, if possible. It's good that you had your blood pressure checked.

Because you have diabetes, you are more likely to have other autoimmune disorders. At least one of these can cause rapid heart rate. My resting heart rate used to be 120 beats per minute. The doctor said it could lead to a heart attack even though I am young. You need to take medication to slow it down. It is important to see a doctor as soon as possible so you don't die.

The problem with this suggestion is not the quality of the advice, going to a doctor is always the best idea, but medical fees also apply, which many people don't have the resources to make, much less more important fees and bills. It's not a matter of fear as much as it can be a matter of money.

I agree that web forums are no replacement for solid medical advice. But I have had many of these distressing symptoms such as heart beats seen through my shirt, flip-flopping fluttering sensations in my left chest area, days of weakness, lethargy & dizziness, all the things people are asking about. I have been to several doctors over the last 10 years of symptoms, had numerous EKG's, echocardiograms, blood tests, etc. Once I exhibited so many signs of a heart attack, I was ambulanced to the hospital, just a few weeks after my echocardiogram showed great results. All tests have shown my heart to be in great shape, but I have occasional PVC. No one but the ambulance team asked me about water intake and dehydration. Each doctor took in the symptoms they thought relevant. I have yet to feel any doctor has taken into account everything I have told them. Maybe some stuff is not relevant, but I'm pretty sure I don't have heart burn ( a quick and repeated diagnosis).
Talking in a forum to a large group of people can help someone who is feeling health issues they may have trouble describing, to piece together a relevant history. It only occured to me this month that alcohol intake seemed to precede some of my heart or circulatory issues. Had I been paying attention to this sooner, I may have had better info to provide my doctors. But they never brought it up either.
So let's keep sharing, but as a prelude to seeking educated help.

I have a hard heart beat and feel tired. I've had an aorta valve and quadruple bypass 4 years ago. My doctor told me my heart is good, but what could my problem be? I am not near my HMO now.
