My last period was 10 weeks ago and are usually regular, Im 47 years old the doctor did some blood tests and said I am neither pregnant, perimenopausal or have completed menopause. She said my Progesterone level is only 8ng/ml and she wasn't at all concerned. I have Hashimotos disease but that is under control. I have heard that you have a greater chance of developing endometrial cancer if you don't have your period after a while. Has any one else had the same problem and if so can you please tell me the outcome thank you
I went to regular doctors as well, with symptoms ranging from heavy to non-exsistent periods, morning sickness, headaches, chills and inability to focus. My doctors all told me my progesterone was normal, and assumed I was lying about not being pregnant. I went to an alternative medicine woman however, desperate for answers, and she told me that while my body may be making enough progesterone, that didn't insure that my body's receptors were recieving it. She said this is a realtively new discovery, so many doctors, especially since it's such a specialty issue, don't know that this could be the problem. She gave me a progesterone supplement and I made a full recovery- perhaps try seeing another doctor.
