I've had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, laproscopic exploratory surgery, a D & C, MANY MANY internal & external ultrasounds and they've found nothing. The only thing that has EVER helped is acupuncture. But even that didn't last. The pain came back.
I was ready to give up. But some more web searching and I found a doctor in Phoenix (2 hours away from me) that specializes in women's pelvic pain and finding the cause. I'm going to see him in October.
I want to say this ladies..>DONT GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!!! Keep searching! There are SO many of us that are experiencing the same thing. Someone has to find an answer.
I'll report back after my appointment.
However, it might just be a pulled muscle or something. I have been having sex on almost a daily basis the last couple weeks. It could be a sign of something worse health-wise, which I hope not. I'm 24 years old and am pretty healthy, active walking/jogging/biking, but I do have a bad diet. Bad in the sense that I drink too much alcohol late in the evenings.
For the next couple weeks, I will be away from my boyfriend and drinking less. I will post again to let you know if the pain went away.

What a pain this has been - I think I am ready to have surgery to see if I can get some relief!
I recently had a second MRI and they found bilateral hernias. One on either side of my pelvis. I'm having surgery on Friday to correct them. The Doc said she can't guarantee that this is what's causing my pain, but it's a good likelihood. some of the research I've done shows that MEN who have inguinal hernias (like mine) ALSO have pain right before orgasm in their testicles.
I'm so hoping this is it!!! I'll report back.
Just wondering how you made out and if you are still having this problem. I am almost 36 and had this problem for many years. Pain only during and orgasm in my left side. Afterwars I would occassionally feel sick to my stomach. The pain was so bad that it would sometimes bring tears to my eyes, I was literally affraid to have an orgasm! Several years after this all began I began having a constant sharp pain in my left side. an ultrasound showed a grapefruit sized cyst on my ovary. During surgery the doctor found I had endometriosis and removed it. I have not had the pain since! I'm not sure which one was causing the pain but apparently it was one of the two. However, I suspect it was the endometriosis because doctors had previously done ultrasounds and not seen the cyst. Endometriosis can only be diagnosed doing exploratory surgery so if you have insurance do it! Mine was done by laser and pretty simple. I hate to hear of any girl going through this because I remember what it was like!
