Definitely you have helped me! I am a holistic health coach, so I thought I knew it all...lol...and when this started happening to me, I thought the worst. I did not tell my doctor, because it went away after abstaining for a couple of weeks, and then it came back. However, I now realize that I have been under a lot of stress, and that if it can go away when I relax and rest, then it can't be "that serious". The thing that scared me the most was never having heard of this condition. I see a chiro on a regular basis, so I know that isn't my issue. It's stress. That's why so many are having no luck with a physical diagnosis. I am RELIEVED. And I will now be able to help my patients who have this. THANKS!!!

I went searching the internet this morning to find answers. Since my last period I have been having pain on my right side during orgasm (I see most are saying it occurs on the left). My period started again on Monday and by Tuesday I was having the same pain (more pronounced) during cramping. The pain during cramping is more pronounced and leaves me feeling like someone punched me in the lower abdomen on the inside. The pain during orgasm is (as someone else said) like a pulse and is just enough to ruin the orgasm. Someone mentioned they had a cyst is this is exactly what I was thinking was causing my pain. I do have insurance but I also can't afford my co-pays right now. It also doesn't seem like many women have had success in treating the pain by seeking medical treatment. If I'm just going to get a "there's noting wrong with you" answer from my GYN I don't see the point in going to the GYN. Is there any exercise or herbal supplements that have given anyone relief?

I'd try magnesium supplememts if I were you. About 500mg before bed and another 500mg in the morning. Your body needs magnesium anyway, so if that doesn't take care of the problem, at least you are doing something good for yourself.

I am 65 and have been getting this severe pain with orgasm for over 15 years.  I have had extensive medical testing, colonoscopy, laproscoptic exploratory surgery, blood work, scans and they find nothing that would explain the pain.  It is now happening after a hot shower or when bending down to do yard work for an extended period of time.
The pain does not happen everytime I do those things but definitely every time I have an orgasm. The pain is always the same.  It starts mildly and quickly becomes a deep severe pain that radiates.  It starts from my lower left side continues to my buttocks area and down my leg to my knee.  I am so sick and tired of all of this.  I don't know where to turn for help.  I have seen many doctors but no answers.  I do suffer from constipation, it might be somewhat related to the orgasm pains but I don't know.  My husband feels so bad for me,  I refuse getting an orgasm.  So sad!  I am beginning to think that there is no solution to this problem and that worries me.

MAGNESIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!! This will eliminate your constipation, and I am betting this is your problem with orgasm, as well. In your case, 1,500mg every night before bed.

I too am having these symptoms for about 6 months. I had internal and external ultrasounds - came out clean. Had a cat scan - came out clean. My gyno believes it's muscle related. I had a hard time believing that until I started doing some praying and some research. I am 90% sure that it is my psoas muscle. I know, I never heard of it either. I went to my chiropractor and asked him about it. He did some tests and he agrees with me. He adjusted my hips (which are out of line regularly) and is doing some of his own research to see where we go from here. It's a rare situation, but has become very painful for me all the time. I do feel better now that i'm able to put a name to it. Maybe you should look into it and see what you find.

Since my last post a couple of months ago, I have been to my gyno and started Lupron Depo therapy for endometriosis. I have a stone cold case of endometriosis. The pain was gone completely by the time I should have started my period. Amazing! :o Hoping I don't have to worry about it returning. Good luck to all!

Have you seen a chiropractor? Your condition sounds like a chiropractic issue. Also, magnesium cures constipation. Take 1,000mg each night before bed.

I am 21 and have had this problem for 4 years now. I went for an exploratory surgery (cant remember what it was called, two small incisions in the belly button and lower abdomen) as he thought that I had endometriosis as well. Which after surgery they determined I did not have. and there was no cyst either. At first they told me I had a cyst on my left ovary, pain killers didn't take the pain away, I would be on the floor just dying of pain. The pain gets worse when I have my period and when I am having sex/orgasm even any type of arousal. I have been with my boyfriend for 3years now,and it has always been a very sore topic between us, I don't feel good about myself because of this and have no desire to be intimate with him, which was not the case when we first met it has just gotten worse over the years. I have recently moved to a new province/city so I am hoping that a different doctor can help me with this. It is totally ruining my relationship with him and my self esteem. I just feel disgusted and frustrated with the situation! When I was younger sex was the best thing in the world, and now I dread it because the pain gets so bad. I have similar pain to mostly all of the posts on here and all it seems to me is that it is something I will just have to live with... so depressing! I am glad I am not the only one dealing with this so it gives me some piece of mind on this. I have no answers about anything, reading this has given me some good tips and some hope but it seems like this will be a lifetime struggle.

I've had the same sharp pain during climax for a while now also.  I lived in mexico for a couple of years and while having an ultrasound one day, the doctor asked if I had Varicose Veins.  I instantly replied yes but was confused as to why he asked me about them. As he explained to me his belief that the pain and discomfort were the result of vericose veins, i honestly didn't believe him because no doctor in the USA ever mentioned anything like this before.  He basically made a connection between the varicose veins in my legs and all other veins and vessels running up into my body on the front of my body and toward the center of the crease of my legs and because i had varicose veins, that was the reason of my sharp pains.  Somehow, During an orgasm blood vessels are enlarged and the clogged veins i had were causing the pain. I was beyond confused and distraught but since I had nothing to lose I wanted to get rid of my unsightly vaicose veins either way.  I have since had several treatments for my varicose veins in mexico and believe it or not it actually worked. I am as shocked as anyone but for me this was the cause of my discomfort during orgasm/climax.  I am thankful to the doctor that finally found the cause of my discomfort. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

did you ever find anything out. This is exactly what I just started to experience. Never had a problem before and then all of a sudden about 2 weeks ago it started. I lost my grandma to vaginal cancer and I'm super worried right now.
