lower right quadrant burning, stinging, over to ovary area

it could be a hernia

I to suffered lower left side stomach pain and it was very tender to touch and get like a nettle stinging feeling which isnt painful but irritating and re-accuring in my right side back and front i was referred for a CT Scan which revealed i have Diverticular Bowel Disease and as a result of it i had a Cyst on my Pancreas and my Ovaries. So be persistant with your doctor and get to bottom of your problems as i had been to hospital twice with the pain and doctors 4 times before i was sent for CT Scan, blood tests all clear and ultra sound didnt show it either.

I have had this going on for the last 5 years off and on, sometimes it is worse after sexual intercourse, I first noticed it about 6 months after my Tubaligation surgery. The burning and stinging pain is in my left ovary area and goes down towards the crease of my leg.

i have been going thru same thing (burning, stinging pain right side along my c-section scar) since 2008. Had surgery to try to remove the mass that was found on ultrasound and after surgery they determined i had Endomitriosis. Little is known of this disease apparently. Im in so much pain almost for the full month. Im not looking forward to another surgery but thinking the only thing left to do is get a hysterectomy. My quality of life sucks. Want to be active with my kids not just lay on the couch in pain for two to three weeks out of the Month. Anybody else get the same diagnosis? 

I hear you all. The endometriosis is no fun and honestly not much is known about the cause. After 4 female surgeries the past 5 years my dear husband finally chewed our OB a new one. This month I got my hysterectomy with the left ovary and tube removed. I was looking about the burning pain I'm having in my left side. There's nothing there anymore so why should it hurt? I've been dealing with cysts and endometriosis since I was prego with my 14 year old. Had all the cancer tests and that's not it. If your dealing with the endometriosis and your less than 40 years old be prepared for a long battle. It's very hard to convince a Dr to complete a hysterectomy at a young age. I told mine thanks for fighting for my right to have horrible cramps, cysts and turmoil but it's past time for this thing to be gone. I just don't understand why my left side burns and stings like there's something there. Good luck to you all, and don't give up the fight. Unfortunately men OB's don't really understand the true pain that comes with the cysts and endometriosis.

I had the OP's situation at the end of my last pregnancy. The doctors told me I was tired of being pg and to go home. Days later and my amniotic fluid is all but gone so they move to do an "emergency" C-section. The baby is fine and my pain is even worse and they still don't listen while running every test known to mankind. A total of 21 days later and I am nearly dead with fluid built up into my lungs and they decide to go in and explore to find.......

Wait for it....

A burst appendix!  Even a hairdresser a few weeks later knew what it was simply by my saying lower right quadrant pain yet the doctor's (at a learning medical center BTW) did not and because I didn't show anything on apparent tests they have.

Yes, I survived and the baby was fine but you wanna talk about the most disgusting treatment EVER by some doctors and this would damn sure take the cake. From the hideous belly button to C section scar (which looks like a front butt) to the realizing a couple of years later that it caused me to be infertile for the rest of my life to just the sheer judgmental attitude from at least one of the doctors.

Sounds like an incisional hernia caused by your scrubs section

After a C-Section I began to experience (7 yrs ago) same story as yours- mine is in the left quadrant abdominal pain with the burning - and pulling stinging sensation may last from a couple of days of real bad pain where i cannot even move to up to two-three weeks at a time. Had a Hysterectomy 5 months ago- according to my DR that was the problem (left my ovaries) - pain came back- went to a specialist - did an exploratory surgery- found a hernia- after 2 months...pain came back!! Just had a colonoscopy- nothing- Pain is still here- I am sooo frustrated- what on earth is wrong?!! I am 43. :(

Seems a C-section is very common with this problem. I didn't start having my right-sided burning until a year after my second C-section.

You should not go into early menopause unless both ovaries are removed as well and tubes

it's tissue that has been traumatized through delivery of your baby. At least that's what my doctor told me.

I just read an interesting article about the symptoms of hernia in women. Some of what you all are saying sounds like what they described. I have the same symptoms, and have had them now for about 3 months. Is worst if I try to sleep on my stomach at night--the article said hernia in women goes undiagnosed because we dont' have the same "bulge" as men, women's hernia is much smaller and produces intermittent burning, searing pain that can travel down the groin and leg. It's not detected on ultrasound, or by OBGYNs because we lay on a table and it "disappears". Diagnosis and repair is by laparoscopy, after an exam standing up--the area of hernia can be felt by internal exam through the vaginal wall. I am nearly certain this is my issue, and plan to make an appt with my OBGYN specifically to talk about the possibility. Hope this helps all of us !

I have the same pain .My doctor has s Done an ultrasound, check for UTI, still no anwers.I feel crazy cause sometimes when Im at the doctors I dont have the pain and I look crazy .I'm a EMT and I know how some medical professionals just go by what the patient says or look like and dont do futher investigation. I Justs wish I could get some answers .!!!

Not sure if you got your results yet, but I dealt with an I diagnosed inguinal hernia even after having an MRI. The only one who was babel to even spot the tiniest mark on the MRI was the general surgeon I went to. Turns out they do hide themselves quite a bit in women. Mine was considerably large and he couldn't believe how long I had been living with it like that but stated all the same reasons you did as to why it may not have been picked up. I had surgery to repair it.
