I had a bunionectomy on my left foot in October '11.  Over Christmas I noticed a pea-sized lump increasing in size on the top of my foot.  I went to see my surgeon who confirmed one of the screws was backing out and I had it removed.  My problem is the lump has not gone, in fact it's getting bigger.  I called the surgeon who said it was probably just post-operative swelling but I don't think so - it's a very defined lump, quite hard and the size of a grape now (getting bigger each week)!  I initially had the surgery done because I couldn't wear heels....I'm now in a position where I can't wear anything but flip flops and ugg boots comfortably.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I'm having this issue too... same thing with screw removal. No idea what it is... mine isn't growing though. Hurts to wear tight flats and heels.
