i'm 16 and i've had this lump just underneath my left ribcage for about a year, when i first felt it it was quite small, probably about the size of a large bean, but during the last two months i've noticed it's gotten bigger. i've had shooting pains in my stomach which i think are caused by this lump, some days it can ache constantly, and i'm frequently suffer from nausea and dizziness. i'm too scared right now to go to the doctor and i'm really confused on what it is :-/ thankyou for any helpful replies.
I understand why you are scared to go to the doctor, but it's far more scary to think what it might be that is behind this. That's even worse if you start to read and hear all kind of stuff and don't have your doctors opinion - at least he/she is a professional who will examine you and see what is going on. So, it's clear that you will have to see a doc, especially because you say it's changing size and getting larger, with pains - since it lasts this long, I doubt that it might be caused by injury, except if you didn't have one before the lump appeared?

When I was younger I had the same thing, in the same area. I had non-invasive surgery to remove the lump and it was just a cyst that grew in the underlying tissue. Removed with no problem. Pain was irritation and pressure of the tissue due to its size.

I had the same thing (except on my rite side and lower) and just had an X ray yesterday! the x ray showed that the lump i had was actually backed up stool in my intestines!!! this can be fixed by taking a perscribed laxative which should help me get rid of the...debris? this could be ur issue too. if ur constipated, this could be ur answer. i recommend telling a doctor, and the doctor will recommend a harmless and painless x ray. no biggie. relax! seeing a doctor is ur best bet :)m good luck!
