Ive been smoking for 7-8 years every day, sometimes extreme amounts of time in a day. I've been recently feeling symptoms like chest pain, gut attacks, back pain, severe diarrhea for years... So I decided to change my diet and see what happens because I just didn't have the will power to stop it was controlling my life. I felt like I was going downhill.
Day 1 of this diet was August 12th 2016
I started the nutritional ketosis diet and there is one thing that really feels amazing once your adapted to ketosis.. it's your mind, you get energy from fat that your liver produces naturally and it's sent straight to your brain and all cells... I felt 1,000,000,000% better mentally, my brain felt like I just shot myself with heroine when I got that rush of energy from ketones.. there is NOTHING else in this world that feels that amazing, not even close, no hard drugs. NOTHING!
Then I would smoke while being in ketosis and it would cloud my mind.. I felt better sober with the ketones energy, you feel "mental clarity" it's unbelievable, I felt like I could access way more intelligence in my brain then ever before.. I played bejeweled and every move was coming to me in less then a second and I was owning the game with ccrazy cascades that was coming out of no where it was just mind boggling!!! Your mind prefers this form of energy compared to glucose but despite the positive vibe online.. there is problems that I encountered which I believe came from the withdrawal of weed + a very bad diet prior to ketosis that unleash something really really bad. Your pH is more acid as well from ketones which can be a problem for some people.

I experienced frequent urination from week 1 to 5 and on week 4 (sept 7th 2016) all hell broke loose, I COMPLETELY LOST MY HORMONE LITERALLY. I had a "shift" feeling like a sea-saw and the left side being at the highest point and I slowly felt the right side coming up to the top in like 2-3 seconds that happened.
The next day I wake up feeling great (mental clarity of your mind feels amazing from waking up to going to bed.. u don't need sugar at all, in fact I was consuming 20g or less of carbs a day)
As soon as I ate something, OMG! my bladder was pushing I felt burning/inflammation, all of a sudden something was moving inside my urethra to the tip of my penis and coming back and forth in there.. sometimes getting stuck in the urethra.. It was ruining my life, I felt miserable down there.. but my MIND ALWAYS FELT AMAZINNNGGGGG in this entire process!
On Sept 21st, I Pee'd a kidney stone at home.. no blood.. I got lucky (excess sodium intake increases calcium concentration in urine and my pH was acid.. it was a recipe for disaster.
I tried modifying my carbs to fix my hormone issue.. btw my doctor just thought I was nuts and couldn't find anything negative about this diet since I was cutting all the sugar/carbs basically, nothing was working.. until for an entire 2 weeks I ate 150+ carbs and I felt that SAME SHIFT during my sleep on Sept 29th 2016.
Next day I woke up, I always felt great in the morning prior to eating.. So I ate something and that moving thing stopped totally ever since that "shift"
Apparently it was my T4 converting excessively into reverse T3 (instead of Free T3) and on Sept 29th my T4 was now producing free T3 like normal... But I was deficient in T3 still from all those days producing reverse T3... So I still had burning/inflammation down there and didn't know how to fix it.
I started eating raw veggies & fruits (80% vegan) and eating starch/protein for dinner only... Within 4 days it's been greatly improved! I'm still on it and getting better and better.
One thing though, my MIND FEELS NOTHING REMOTELY CLOSE TO KETOSIS, IM GETTING THE MIND ISSUES FROM WEED WITHDRAWALS PRESENTED ON THIS THREAD... It's off and on, I get that pressure on the forehead feeling like ur lacking oxygen and dying, my sleep has been altered as well, I wake up suddenly feeling like I need to breath like I was lacking oxygen.. my eyes feel super heavy that I can't close them without them twitching :/ Hopefully all this goes away soon.

I was doing the same thing, and yes it goes away- worst case is 6 months... I am on 4 months currently...

Can you still smoke MJ once your cleared up or how should you go about it? Can you smoke daily etc? I'm currently going through this and it sucks. I feel dumb asf and it's hard to think.

I understand the brain fog from smoking cannabis. What I recommend is taking my alpha lipoic acid. It's an anti oxidant and can also help with regaining senses like smell.
