After I ended up in the ER because I was having horrible abdominal pain, they found an ovarian cyst on the ultrasound I was told to get an on-gyn appointment as soon as possible. I couldn’t get one for two months, and when I finally did a week ago, it turns out my ovarian cyst has grown. To make things even worse, while taking a sample for a pap screen, she also found a pea sized mass in my cervical canal. I’m scheduled for cone biopsy after the new year, but I’m not sure if I should wait that long because I think I’m gonna lose my mind by then thinking it’s cervical cancer. I have a family history of breast and uterine cancer, and I did have abnormal pap before I got pregnant with my son, but my pap screen after the delivery was normal. Any advice on chances this is cancer?
Hello,
I see you have an ovarian cyst and then they found another mass in the cervical canal and breast and uterine cancer run in your family. I wouldn't have any negative thoughts about this at this time. It will be what it will be. Just because it runs in your family doesn't mean you have it. There are many factors beside having genetic predisposition. And, remember if they catch it early your prognosis will look good. Try to relax and enjoy the holidays. Concentrate on the holidays and your family. You want to prevent stress. You don't know that you have cancer so think it. I wish the very best for you and your family.
