Please can you explain me is methotrexate good as rheumatoid arthritis treatment or not? There are so many opposite stories. Is it FDA approved?
I just read about it and I understood that methotrexate is the standard treatment for RA. Back in 1950’s was first attempt to use it against rheumatoid arthritis, then in 1970's, methotrexate was considered an experimental treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, but it is now an FDA-approved drug and Methotrexate has since become the gold standard treatment for patients who have moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis with pain, stiffness, swelling, and fatigue.
I'm having Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis and now blood platelets are low, and I have odd sized blood cells. I'm taking a chemo drug called Methotrexate. What's my prognosis?
