I've been having a lot of problems lately. I have been tired a lot so sleeping a lot but the tired and weak feeling does not subside. I missed my period last month and haven't gotten this month. I have had a lot of cramping, frequent urination usually with a lot instead of a little, and headaches. I have had food aversion and craving. Also, I was feeling nauseous a lot. My lower back hurt as well, but it normally does because something is wrong with my tail bone. All of these things would make one think pregnancy. I have mirena as birth control and have for two years now. I took two home tests anyway and both said negative. I thought maybe something was wrong with the device, like embedding or disappearing to cause havoc on my other insides. I checked for wires and only found the one and the tip of the device, which I usually felt, was gone. I was freaking out and checking every possible thing I could online but nothing could quite cover every symptom. I felt around some more to be sure I was right and I wasn't. I found the other wire, but it was tangled with the other one and what held them together at the end was a ball of old tampon fibers. Gross right? Well, it was about an inch big and it was mostly black with some green and a strand of something red. The black and green didn't just look like some fiber that ended up there through intercourse, but that the fibers had turned that color. For the longest time I thought the mirena made my cervix smell awful. It wasn't anywhere else that smelled, just the cervix and the discharge from it before a period. After taking out the tampon fibers I realized it was that which had caused the smell, not the device. Now it doesn't smell bad. I started to feel better, but still having symptoms. Then, I realized I have a very heavy amount of discharge. Most of it is pasty and white but some of it was thick, gooey, and pale green like a "nose nugget". I don't have health insurance. I wanted to pull the thing out because it's causing me so many problems but it could very well be embedded, or I could be pregnant, so I didn't. But I don't really know what could be wrong with me or what to do about it now. I am pretty sure it's some sort of infection thanks to the tampon fibers and whatever it is, isn't good. Any advice?
I had MIRENA also. It gave me the same problems except i had a period daily. When i went to th dr they said it was placed wrong. So they took it out and replaced it. 4 months later the symptoms came back only to find out that i had gotten pregnant on it
