I'm on birth control and i have used condoms during intercourse and the condoms did not break, but i still have not gotten my period. It has been two months since i had my last period, and i only have been on birth control for about three months now. Can anyone relate to this or has any good advice for me.
Birth control (either pills or injections, even some of birth control implants) contain female sex hormones that have direct effect on your ovulation, menstrual cycle and the tissue of your uterus that breaks apart during each menstrual cycle. So, when you are on hormonal birth control, these hormones stop your ovulation so there is basically no release of fertile eggs (that is how they prevent pregnancy) and, depending of the type of birth control skipped periods can be quite common and expected thing to happen. If it's pill you are on, then placebo pills are there to start the bleeding, but if its implant or injection than that might be the cause for the skipped period.
