I went to my dr on 12/8/09 (see my earlier post, on that date) and as I'd suspected, was not pregnant. My dr said what others have said here, that anything goes when you're nursing. It's totally normal to skip a period. My period came on 12/15/09 and was normal. I missed again in January, so decided to wait it out. After too many days of nausea, I bought a home pregnancy test. This time, we're pregnant - good news for us :-)

Wow. I'm so glad i'm not the only one. I'm still worried though I dont think is time for another baby an my husband and I didnt really want another baby. If I'm pregnant though we will welcome it but so hoping I'm not. I havent taken a pregnancy test yet since las month was my first period since I had my son 9 months ago. I will wait a couple of days to take a pregnancy test. will post the outcome, fingers crossed I'm not.

Same with me, I have been pumping every 4 hours except at night b/c my son sleeps through the night now. He is now 4 months old. Last month I had a period that was really light and abnormal for me since before I was pregnant I would always have cramps but with this one, nothing. So I am now a few days late, I took a pregnancy test 2 days ago and it was negative. But I have had small cramps, very brief to the point where I can barely notice them, food cravings, bloated and irritability. All the symptoms of a period but it's not here. I keep reading that it's normal when you are breastfeeding but I can't help but worry. I really do not want to get pregnant again yet I just had my son 4 months ago. So I really don't know what to do, I guess I will take another test in a few days and let you all know what happens.

Same thing here. My DD is 6 months now, and I exclusively pump every 4-6 hours. My periods resumed a couple months ago and were CLOSE to normal. I'm now on day 42 (which is 10 days past the longest I usually go) of my cycle and no period yet. I took a test last night and it was negative. I am most certainly not trying to conceive at the moment so that is a relief. I guess it's just a waiting game now... not a game I particularly enjoy though.

Having the same issue. Nursing my 10 month old still, every 4-5 hours, had a regular period for the last 3 months every 27 days. I am on day 30 now, so only 3 days late, but have been feeling like I am going to get my period for about 2 weeks now and nothing! I have taken multiple pregnancy tests and all have come up negative. I called my OB today and she said, wait a week or two, then test again, but like everyone else, anything goes while you are still nursing. I did have a friend who had multiple negative tests, and a negative blood test for the first 3 weeks after her missed period and was actually pregnant! So I am stressing...just would like to know one way or the other! Anyone pregnant?

Wow, lots of people going through this!

My daughter is 9 months old. I have been sick to my stomach for 9 days. I suffered from hyperemesis with both my kids, to the point I was in and out of the doctors office daily with my son for fluids and meds and in and out of the ER with my daughter to stay hydrated/alive. My first sign of pregnancy is throwing up right after implantation... o.O but I just have nausea and only vomited once yesterday.

Anyways. My period was supposed to be here Saturday. No cramps, no spotting, I normally spot for 2 days before my period shows. I also have horrible cramps. I also have that one heavy bleeding condition that they show on TV for a few cycles till my body goes back to normal.....

I don't know if I should go get a test or not. With my kids I was able to test WAY before I was late for my period because my hormone levels were high enough to support twins or triplets....

I am 7 weeks late. My last period was August 24th, 2010. I'm breastfeeding my 9 month old daughter, i have taken 3 pregnancy tests. The first 2 were negative and the 3rd one i think was positive, but it was a very faint line. I'm thinking i was just seeing things. I have had 4 normal periods after having my 9 month old, i have never missed a period before and the only times i did miss a period was when i was pregnant. I have 2 kids.

I'm not sure what to do, i don't want to go to the doctors cause my insurance sucks. I think i will wait until december and see if my period still has not showed up then i will go to the doctors.

I will update when i either take another prego test or i get my period.

I have a friend who is pregnant right now, due in January, she told me she had the same problem, she didn't get a positive pregnancy test until she was 14 weeks pregnant. She was nursing her daughter and kept getting negative pregnancy tests.

So there is hope. I will be happy either way, pregnant or not.

Well, I for one am pregnant! Saw this site a few months ago when I missed my first period and was wondering what was going on. I had two normal periods after resuming at 6 months old and then nothing. I took a pregnancy test way later than I had with my son and it came up negative, so I thought it was just a nursing missed period. Well, before I was going to miss again I tested and it turned navy blue as soon as it got wet. So yup, you could be pregnant. The upside to the negative test is that I missed most of my first trimester and kept right on nursing for two more months without being pressured to stop. Now, my son is ten months old and I've cut back to nursing twice a day and am getting ready to have a new baby and a 16 month old. I wouldn't worry about feeling shock or ambivalence over being pregnant. It all works out.

THANK YOU GUEST! That information was great and is easing my 2 negative pregnancy result woes. I had a period at 6m and now it is no where to be seen. I got some PMS and thought for sure aunt Flo would make an appearance but, nothing. All I can say is that baby was sick and was nursing like no other... maybe that is is reason for missed period? Who knows...

i too am glad i found this sight. I am a week late formy pd. I have been nursing my daughter fully since birth and she is now 7 months old. I've gotten 4 periods and full blown ones and now I haven't havd anything. I was starting to freak out because my husband and I did it once but we used a condom and I still haven't gotten it yet. I haven't taken a pregnancy test bc I don't think I need to. Hopefully I'll get it, if not I'll take one I suppose.

OK, so this is pretty late to be adding to this thread, but I'd love to know how things ended with each of you.  I have a 13 month old son, and got my period when he was 11 months.  I then had another period at 12 months (28 days later), and am now about a week late with the third period.  I only had sex one time this month and we used a condom, which is not perfect, but has always worked for us.  I have two other kids, and with both of them, I didn't get my period until I completely weaned (at 18 months).  I am still nursing at bedtime and when he gets up.  This is freaking me out b/c we are overwhelmed with three kids already and the thought of four puts me over the edge!!  Please update me on what happened and what your doctors said.....  Thank you!!

I have a 5month old baby and have never had my period since giving birth. I have taken several pregnancy tests which were all negative.I have been feeling movements in my abdome, feeling sick, tirdness, sore nipples ,headaches, engorged breast and vomiting since my baby was 2months old. I was not pregnant and presently not pregnant as the hormones from breastfeeding can sometimes give you these symptoms. But anything is possible. We should try not to worry so much. If you are pregnant you will eventually find out. If its good or bad news we all manage to cope some how so lets just stop worrying and wait and see. Afterall we cant all be making up these symptoms :-D. Wait and see

I was not pregnant in november. Only really late.

I ended up missing my period in January, I had a lot of spotting though. I found out I was pregnant the end of January, was 8 weeks along. I had no real signs or symptoms. Other than super tender breasts when nursing, when I was closer to 7 weeks. I was still nursing often(every 3+ hours)
