Missed period while breast feeding

Hello, same thing pretty much. I'm nursing my eight month old have had four periods all 40 day cycle, and I'm currently 4 days late. I took a test at two days late with a frer using fmu negative, will test at 13 days late if af is a no show, please keep me updated I will do the same.

I posted on here a few weeks ago and wanted to follow-up. I have a 19mo old still nursing... my period came back when he was 12 months and I had 3-4 normal cycles and then nothing since Nov (it's March)). I had neg pregnancies tests through the end of January and then a positive test at the beginning of February. I'm not sure why my period disappeared for a bit but we must have caught the first egg when I started ovulating again. I think about 8 weeks but need an ultrasound to confirm dates. I guess the moral of the story is that I wasn't pregnant at first when I missed the few periods but be aware that you can (and probably will) ovulate before your next period returns.

I'm experiencing the same thing. My baby is 22 months and still breastfeeds (he's being weaned when he's 24 months). It's been a week since my period was due, I've had period pain for the last 1-2 weeks and my back hurts a little. I'm going to get a pregnancy test today. Really nervous as I really don't want a third baby.

I am so so glad I found this website. I have a 11 (almost 12mo old) son. I have been bf him since birth but he has always slept through the night and started solids at 4mo. He was a big baby and was getting too hungry at night to continue sleeping through. I still bf him 3-4 times a day and last month af came on the 7th. This month I have gotten nothing so far. Before baby my periods were pretty regular 3 or 4 days late at most. I took 3 hpt and all were negative but I couldn't get a positive result with my son until I was almost 2 weeks late. I also experienced very few pregnancy symptoms with him aside from feeling like a zombie for the first trimester. I have felt more tired lately but I think that's normal when you have a 1yr old lol! Really hoping to be pregnant again. Hubby and I would love to have a big family and always wanted our kids to be close in age. He wished we could get pregnant sooner but my body didn't work that way. I'm going to wait a week and do another hpt. Pray for us!! Will post on mar.21 and let you know what happens.

Hi all... I wrote earlier... just to let u know im at 53 days without a period now & went to doctor & the pregnancy test was negative. She has also done some hormonal tests including, prolactin, estrogen & thyroid levels to see if I have a normal cycle or if the breastfeeding or something else is stopping my cycle & preventing me from falling pregnant. Hopefully I'll find out soon. Sorry for bad news... in my case the hpts were accurate & I just wasnt pregnant

Hello ladies I'm back too, still no answers for me. My daughter is now 10months old still breastfeeds a lot 10-18 times a day although when she hit 8 months and started walking she slowed down a little to 7-16 times a day my last period was January 25th 2013 40 day cycles have had 4 or 5 periods all on time and here I am April no period.. Any Luck ladies?? I got appointment Monday 29th 2:45pm I will come back like I have now.

Hi all. This is the 3rd time ive written. Last time I had just had a negative blood test. This time I still didnt get my period back but I had signs of ovulating & then 12 days after that i got 3 very obvious positive hpts using the first response brand. The ones that tell u they can detect 7-10 days after ovulating. I had a blood test at drs & my hcg was 50. I am now about 7+ weeks pregnant!! Yay!! Really hope you all also get what you are hoping for.

Going thru the same thing! I still nurse my nearly 1 year old (his birthday is in 6 days) and am 34 days late for a period. I had one in january then skipped February, then a normal period in march. Now nothing since march 6th! Several negative tests, but the last one was over a week ago! I'm getting headaches, slight nausea, constantly hungry, heartburn, and very tired! I'm so incredibly confused!!

Same going on here! Period came back 11 months postpartum, 43 days after that, 42 days after that. And then a random 21 day after that. Now it's been another 43 days and 4 neg pregnancy tests later no period. Nursing only about 3 maybe 4 times a day but she's sleeping through the night for the most part. I hate this waiting game.

I had my first period last month. It only lasted three days without any cramping so i was not sure if it was a period. I thought i would wait see if i got it same time next month but it had not. My baby is10months and is still nursing. Neg test but all tests were neg when i was pregnant with her...i wish i could find out if someone had the same thing????

I'm nursing my 8 month old baby and I haven't got my period I am 23 days late I took four pregnancy test and they all came out negative I'm so worried about whether or not I could be pregnant

For those ladies searching for answer to this question, it is "Not Pregnant". These days tests are very accurate and sensitive in detecting hormones. I am over 2 weeks late, took 3 tests which were all neg. Whatever symptoms I thought I had are gone. My doc suggests to keep having sex (we want another baby) and keep using ovulation strips. Back to original question, if you are still BF like me, doc suggests eliminating a feeding or 2 (if your intention is to have another baby or want your period back). BF is tied to hormones, which are still getting back to normal and thus resuming your normal periods.

i hoping to get some answers here, my LO is 7months and no period since the bleeding after having her...took 3 hpt and all negative, it's been 5 months no period, still breastfeeding Not wishing to visit the doc thou and I must include, my stomach is expanding. Any one with this going on????
