My ten year old daughter has been very tired, not eating like she used to and says that it feels like there is something in her throat. She had a Barium Swallow which showed "prominent distal esphogal folds". The endoscopy showed a white material near her vocal cords but nothing else. Then we saw the ENT. The ENT can't identify it. He just says "everything looks okay." She is still having issues and I don't know where to go next. Any advice?
Dear USA22,
I have been experiencing the same thing since Sept. my acupuncturist has been working my since Sept. we thought it was related to fall allergies but when the snow fell my throat clearing still did not go away. Last week my acupuncturist attributed it to stress. Chinese herbs and put some needles in and my throat clearing is gone.My aunt went thought the same thing a few years ago. She had every test run on her and they found nothing wrong with her.
The Chinese herb that I'm taking is Pinellia & Magnolia Bark formula. Google it. It has helped me so far for the past 5 days.
Hi there, don't inow how things are going now or if you'll ever get this reply, but here goes... My son went through the same thing and it is food allergies, specifically gluten. But don't do just the traditional GF diet which only includes wheat, barley, oats & rye. Grain free is the way to go (Paleo diet). ALL grains have gluten and doctors are just now starting to be exposed to this research. Most people who go on al GF diet don't heal completely & neither did my son. Only after going completely grain free did he recover. Also, gluten is very insidious in that it destroys your digestive tract, making it permeable (leaky gut). This causes you to become allergic to other foods that you would not normally be allergic to. For my son it was eggs, a few veggies and fruits. The good news is that once your gut heals, you may once again become unallergic to those foods. That too, happened with my son. He can now enjoys eggs, etc. My son had 4 tests. The first was to see if he had the genes for gluten sensitivity. He did. Then he did the ELISA food/ environmental allergen test, which is WAY better thananything they give you at the allergist. It measures all 5 antibody types instead of just 1 for allergic reaction. Typical just tests IgE, which can give erroneous results. Third test was Spectracell Micronutrient test to determine nutritional deficiencies, which people who are gluten sensitive and don't know it are! Last test was a stool analysis to determine stomach and intestinal damage & function. You won't get these tests at a typical doctor's office. You have to look for someone who practices functional or integrative medicine. This has totally changed our lives for the better. Start off by going grain free for a month to see if that makes a difference. Then look into gene testing -about $150-300 (worth every penny bc it's 100% accurate). Sorry for the long post. I just have to try to help all those kids who suffered like my son did with no real answers from the regular doctors. Did you know they only have 4 weeks of nutrition education and that pharmaceutical companies contribute tons of money to medical schools and heavily influence the curriculum? Doctors aten't being taught to heal, only mask the symptoms.
