I am 67 years old and it looks like I will have to undergo the open heart surgery. The problem is in my faith which forbids me to take blood, can I use hemoglobin-based blood substitutes instead? Will that be equally efficient? I did hear some unpleasant stories about those products, that they might even do more harm than good, is that true?
Well, I suppose that at one point, those are really good and effective, but on the other hand, there is that possibility that risk toward heart attack and some other heart condition might emerge and that poses the question about the benefits of those substances. And I think you can use those freely only in Europe and Russia so far, not in US.
