I've had no pain the entire time. At most it has felt like a MINOR flare up. I'm still elated that I don't have to fix the prolapse every time I have a bowel movement. It's been a life changing event, and I'm not even fully recovered yet.
I still have a lot of discharge and a little blood, but it's getting better and better. I'm hoping within another week that I'll see less and less of that, but I'm certainly not complaining overall!
I don't regret this surgery for a second, other than I put it off for 15 years and wasted so much time with a sore bottom!
I'm happy to answer any questions at all, so please feel free to ask :)

I think I was incorrect about not having any external hemorrhoids removed, as I've got open incisions on the outside, so it appears I had both internal and external removed. Regardless, I've experienced absolutely no pain as a result of the surgery.
I hope this puts some minds at ease and inspires you to deal with the issue. I'm so glad I had this done and would do it again in a second.

Everyone here on this thread is as friggin hero... I'm not joking. In the most literal sense.
How is everything now? Any negatives??
I have pretty big stage 3 internals... almost 20 years now...im 43. Slightly constipated pusher Oreo addict in my mid 20's.
I would like to hear from someone that is a year or more post op with full hemerroidectomy on stage 3 or 4 internals.
Thanks you everyone!!!
Don't put it off. I'm kicking myself pretty seriously for having tolerated it for so long. It was totally a non-event.

I would tell anyone who is at the point that it is a major issue most days, and it hasn't been resolved by healthier eating, and drinking water to do this surgery.
I had a number of internal/external ones that were measured at 2. Not much compared to most people here, but the internal ones bleed after every BM, and two or three times a month, it was like blood letting of the medieval times. For the last 6-7 years, having toilet paper or gauze between the checks have been a necessity for most of the day after a BM.
It has been one month now, and out of the 30+ years of having hemorrhoids, I can't believe how stupid it was not to have it done earlier. For me it has been only a moderate amount of pain for the first two weeks, and now only a slight amount. I only have a slight yellow discharge after a BM now, and occasionally during the day. A humongous improvement already, and if things keep going like they have been, maybe no more toilet paper/gauze after a BM in the next week or so.
I am so happy. Pain, suffering, I would do it again.
