I don't know if anyone can help me but I have been to a face surgeon a couple of weeks ago and they have diagnosed me with tempromandibular (if that's how you spell it) disorder shortly referred to as TMS on my right side. It is practically when I open my mouth the disk on my right jaw slips and pops my jaw out of place. The surgeon was able to give me certain exercises for my jaw and a limited certain number of foods I'm unable to eat such as lollies, steak (basically anything that requires a lot of chewing). However when I commence in doing these exercises my jaw pops to do the exercise in the first place and when it doesn't I experience a lot of pain. Can anyone provide me any additional information that I should be aware of? It would be gratefully appreciated.

Hello, Nibbles!  Is it TMJ disorder that you are speaking of?  Tempromandibular joint disorder?  Your jaw will pop as you do the exercises and it will hurt a bit.  Did the surgeon give you any prescription medication for the pain? Naproxyn and Advil can be taken to help with the pain and inflammation, which will make it easier for you to do your exercises more comfortably.  Warm compresses to the joint will help as well.

Are there anybody who has TMJ disorder that has similar problems with doing the exercises?  What have you found to make it more comfortable to do?
