As long as you are still having your period you should be fine. You should only worry when you actually start missing periods and having no period at all which it shouldnt get to that
Well, even then, it shouldn't worry you until you haven't menstruated for almost three months. That's all completely normal! I hope that helps a little :)
Glad to hear all of this. I'm 24, married without children and my period lasts for 2 days. About 2 years ago I had a copper IUD 'installed' and I had it removed about 8 months later, because I had only one week where I felt ok and then I felt like c**p for two weeks and during my period, which was highly painful. My vision used to go blurry, I became extremely nauseas and just felt like I was going to fall over and die. Especially in public.
But now my periods have been getting shorter and shorter. My periods have never been long or heavy, I started when I was 12. My normal period lasted for about 3-4 days and it has always been like this. But since 3-4 months it's only 2 and they're heavy, at least heavier than they were and they are very painful. 3-5 days into my 'period' I used to have some spotting, but even that is gone now, but during these days my pelvic area still feels really sore and weird. And it's always combined with diarrhea.

I was very relieved to find this message board online. I am 33 years old and I have four children. Before I got pregnant with my fourth baby, I always had regular heavy 5-7 day periods. My periods started up again normally after having baby #4, 14 months ago. My last three periods, however have only lasted one day. The worst of it is that when I ovulate, I have the most horrible cramps for 1-2 days-even worse than when I have my period. I was thinking maybe it had to do with my weight-I am a bit under 110 lbs., but reading these prior posts, I don't think it has to do with that. Sounds like many people are dealing with the same thing. I guess we should be happy, right?
I would say so. I know that the period can vary from person to person as to how long it lasts. It seems that you just got the luck of the draw, plus it has something to do with your weight in some cases as well. Does that help anyone?
Same thing for the past 3 months here. I'm 30, I have a 14 month old, and starting in September my periods last roughly a day. My last one started this Friday, 3 days ago, by Friday night I didn't even need a tampon!! Saturday, minimal spotting on toilet paper, that was it. I have a Dr. apt next Monday. Knowing this is common and at few of your Dr's say it's nothing does make me feel better. But still, this is very weird!
Hi, I am also a 32 yr old female with no children and have never been on the pill. My period when I was younger used to last about 5 or 6 days and it was heavy, with lots of cramping. It now lasts 1 day or sometimes 1 + 1/2 and is very light. I split from my partner 3 years ago and would very much love to have children but have not met anyone since then. I freak out every time I get my period because it is so light that I worry I will not be able to have children. I have asked 5 doctors the same question and they all say its fine as long as im regular. It still doesn't make me feel good when I tell my friends and they say that its weird and they've never heard of that.
Hello I am also in the same boat as all of you. I am 25 and have two children. I had a Csection with the first child then a VBAC with the second one. I was having regular periods while I had Mirena installed LOL Then I got it removed because of some probs it was causing and now I am on Yasmin 28. I now have a day and a half long period. I get cramps start my period mid-day and by the next mid-day to nightime I am completely done bleeding. Its normal flow as a first day should be but then there is spotting by the next morning to mid afternoon and then by the next night its completely dry I don't have to even wear anything. I think its weird but I don't imagine it effects fertility since I do have two children of my own. I have a 6 year old and an 11 month old...he will be ONE January 1, 2010!!!
hey i was just on google asking ?'s bout my period cause it only last 1-2 days n within the last few months has only been a light brown discharge when i found u guys on here and read ur experiences i felt a lil relieved to know too that i am not the only one out there i was and am still a lil worried to find out why n what this is...i am 28yr old mother of 3 n guardian of two...before this my periods usually lasted between 5-7 days n were really heavy then faded out but within the last few months my i have been stuck with this...:( my family think that i could be pregnant i hav takin test but all are neg...not only that i had my tubes tied 6yrs ago so i dont know let me know if anyone gets some answers anytime soon thanks for the reassurence that im not the only one out there...n goodluck with everything

I'm wondering if there's a possiblity i could be pregnant.
Tests i had by myself weren't working at all.
I'm going to ring a doctor tomorrow.
2 days ago or so i started bleeding and i've been expecting a period but then an hour or so later my period had gone and i've had no signs of it coming back at the moment.
It's weird.
I know i shouldn't have had unprotected sex, i'm stupid but i'm just wondering..

I'm worried because my period literally lasted a day. Am I pregnant? No, right? Because I still had it, but I'm really not sure & it's really worrying me. I just stopped birth control Sunday or Monday night. What's wrong with me? :-(

I started having a period at the age of 13, and have always had a 7 day period. My period started on the 13th this month. On the 15th, it had lightened to just a bit of brown discharge. I am puzzled!! I usually get cramps the day before I start. I didn't this time... why not?? Last month, my period only lasted 5 days. That's when I began to question things.... Anyway, just wanted to add myself to the topic discussion, in case someone finds something helpful in the arena of the fertility questions. I, too, am concerned; as I will be TTC soon. !
