My mom fell and broke her Humerous bone in 9 places. She had to wait two days to have surgery because the hospital didn't have the right hardware to fix it. They ended up putting a rod and three pins in her arm. She came home two days later and therapy was started the next week. After a couple of weeks of therapy, she was having a popping noise and pain. She was told this is normal. I am questioning this....any answers?

The popping sound could be coming from an area near the broken humerus, such as he shoulder or elbow. It could be caused by fluid buildup in a near joint or from tendons or ligaments sliding or rubbing against one another.

I would tend to go with what the doctor says. He generally has lots of experience in such injuries and has a good idea what is going on.
