Hello everyone!

I am a 30 year old male in generally good health. Here is my story I hope it offers encouragement to those in same spot;

when I was 22 years old I attended a dentist as part of an entrance exam to be hired by a police agency. I was told my bottom wisdom theeth were growing in sideways and they would need to be removed. I never experienced any discomfort and I couldn't afford the procedure. I decided to fog work for another police agency that did not require me to have the dental work.

I never experienced and problems with my top wosdom teeth as the just grew in straight when I was 25 years old. At around 26 my bottoms kept trying to poke through and this causepayoff and on pain for the next 2 years until I was 28 when they just kinda settled at an impacketed angle and both poked through the skin slightly. I was in the process of leaving my current police force to join another so I just lived with the pain I periodically felt from the infections and pressure on my jaw.

in September of 2011 I began feeling light headed and brain foggy. Over the next 2 years I began to experience anxiety as my Doctours conducted all kinds of tests and came back with nothing. I was prescribed anxiety meds and anti-depressants. Nothing helped me and I actually started to feel like it was hopeless. I found a from similar to this and people talked about wisdom teeth being the culprit. I was sceptical as I can't find any medical research on the topic but I tried yesterday being December 05, 2013 I had all 4 takn out. I am in pain land on medication but I can say that a veil has been lifted. This worked and I don't have the brain fog and light headed feelings anymore!

Hi everyone, I have been reading this thread for a month or so now after doing endless searching on what was wrong with me. My main issue was the brain fog and it was really interfering with my day. Im currently doing my masters in social work and it was making me feel so slow and dumb. After being on two rounds of antibiotics for sinus infections, many doctors visits and massage therapists, i decided to revisit the dentist. He said i needed to have my upper wisdoms out so i did last wednesday. Im not feeling better from the surgery yet but i wanted to share my experience anyway because i know how defeating and hopeless these feelings can make you feel. Another suggestion i would put out there is to see a naturopathic doctor to see if there are some other underlying issues possible. Gluten is a big thing rekated to brain fog and alot of our symptoms! So those of you still seeking out what the problem is, you are your own expert! Dont be afriad to get a second opinion and keep seeing people until the issues are resolved. Nobody needs to live like this and i dont think people who havent experienced brain fog truly understand the awfulness of it !

Any more updates on successfully alleviating the symptoms of brain fog, balance problems, headaches etc!? I would love to know if these damned wisdom teeth are the problem and I'm afraid a few posts here and there of people feeling better prior to extraction just doesn't cut it. I've been told too many different things are causing the symptoms to believe it's my teeth. I've been told brain infection, neck and cervical spine problems, vitamin B and D deficiency, anxiety and stress... Just to name a few. I'm due to get mine out in a month. So excited! These last 6 months of feeling like this just about have me at my wits end and I am becoming increasingly irritated, depressed and feeling more and more hopeless every day. All I think is "why me?" lol.

Hello!
You remind me of this dark phase of my life where I used to ask the same question. Never worry. Perhaps the extraction is the cure to all this suffering. I have the same symptoms you listed in addition to hand eczema. I eat well, and my skin was strong and healthy, but I noticed since these wicked teeth started erupting my hands have become horrible to look at. The teeth affect the balance of the whole body and not only the mouth and head. Here is a list of some wisdom tooth relations and problems. Don't take this as an accurate diagnosis, but I took this from a trusted website:
Central nervous system, mind (centrols psycho-vegetative state), weather sensitivity, weather-induced hemicrania, vegetative dystonia, cerebral spasms, central & peripheral defunctionalization phenomena, epilepsy, sensory & motor disorders (MS), brain/spinal tumor, vitality disorders, aphonia after extended talking, sciatica, migraine, headache, tinnitus, periarthritis humeroscapularis, nocturnal brachialgia — generally: upper extremities, hand eczema, skin prolem, face, hand edema, trigeminus, neuritis.

....and I forgot to tell you that I read your post somewhere on this issue...brain infections are very very rare to occur. Actually, it's the wisdom teeth that can cause infections if they are not properly taken care of after the extraction or if they are impacted and swollen. This is very rare too. I was told the same exact thing, but we are the only ones to know how we feel. If there is anything wrong with the body, it sends signals and we just don't feel alright. I'm going for an extraction too but not before you. Keep us informed :) Good luck!

This is why I just LOVE the internet.  I'm honestly SCARED at the dizziness I've been feeling (and sometimes nausea) for almost 2 months now.  I think my PCP believes I'm a hypochondriac at this point!  I'll be getting my FOUR top wisdom teeth extracted this month (the bottom two are staying as they're not causing any problems at this point).

I've been getting AWFUL headaches and earaches too and am hoping and literally praying that the extractions will remedy this!

Thank you for posting on this topic - I feel a bit of relief mentally now! :)

ps - the bizarre thing is that I'm almost 44!

rpalmer92 here (posted above you),

I know the feeling of being called a hypochondriac, it sucks! I don't even talk to anyone about it any more cause they all just look at me like "oh god, he's complaining again". If only we could pass the pain and uncomfortable dizziness onto them for a week and watch how they handle it lol.

I'm due to get mine out in 8 days. I'm so excited! I've found a number of posts on the internet claiming that the headaches and other annoying symptoms are cured once these damn these are removed so I'm feeling rather optimistic about it! If I come out pain free, I dunno what I'll do with myself lol.

A tip for you guys, try doing a nasal (sinus) irrigation with some warm salt water. The teeth can cause sinus issues if the roots are anywhere near the maxillary sinus cavity and I always get sinus infections and weird, thick mucus and post-nasal drip - the nasal irrigation seems to clear it up and release some of the "pressure" in my head.

Another tip I can say works well is just RELAX! I know everyone tells you to do this, but seriously, lay back, put some relaxing music on and have a beer or a wine lol. It really helps. Try asking for a deep neck massage from someone too - tell them to press really hard and you'll notice a small difference in the headache after.

My oral surgeon told me that because these wisdom teeth put so much pressure on the jaw, the neck muscles are also affected as it's all linked.
Relax the jaw and neck and you should see a little bit of relief :)

Question... I occasionally partake in passing around a joint or three and I've noticed that after the high is over, on the mellow come down part of it, mine isn't so mellow - the headache actually worsens, I develop severe sinus pressure and I get really anxiety and develop sweats and become dizzy and stuff. The symptoms I usually have seem to heighten and it's quite a scary experience. I don't want to start a drug taking discussion here, but does anyone else notice this if they get high on cannabis from smoking it? I was thinking it could be a combination of the already present headaches etc then heightened by the introduction of sinus congestion or something.

Hey all!

I had my four impacted wisdom teeth and an infected upper left first molar out yesterday morning under general anaesthetic. I can say with confidence that I feel better already in regards to those symptoms we all hate. I don't have that annoying dull pressure headache any more, I feel wayyyyy less anxious, I don't feel the brain fog and "retarded-ness", heck, I'm doped up on Panadeine Forte and I still feel more alert and sharper than I did pre-extraction.

I'm very certain this isn't a placebo effect and that I am for the best part... cured!

Yesterday and this morning have been extremely painful and uncomfortable due to the swelling, bleeding and throbbing pains in my mouth, but honestly it's so worth it just to feel that veil being lifted off you slowly, so to speak :)

I'll report back in a few days.

Regards,

Ryan
