Well for starters I'm only 17 and a senior in high school. I have been in a committed relationship with my boyfriend for 4 years, just this year though I lost my virginity to him. I am not on birth control, but we ALWAYS use condoms!! On August 16th we had sex and then after a little while the condom broke so we stopped. On the 24th of August I got my period as planned. It was light brown blood the first day and then got redish/pinkish the next day and the next red. It came and went as normal then we had sex two more times between then and when my next period was scheduled for September 27th. Nothing happened with the condoms or anything, well nothing that was noticed. However on September 27th my period didnt come. Before I was sexually active my periods would always sometimes skip months and be super late so I didn't think much by it and I had been super stressed with stuff, but today is October 22nd and I haven't had my period yet! I've never had a regular to day every month period, but this is definitely not a week or two late. I will be a whole month late this Thursday. I have been googling pregnancy sympthoms for a month now and I have none but a missed period. I haven't been sick or throwing up at all, my boobs aren't sore, and everything else I don't have. I'm really scared because my parents don't approve of me being with him and they would completely disclaim me and kick me out if I'm pregnant. I'm sorry this is so long, but I'm just desperate for answers right now. Thank you!

Hi Meghan, So, of course any time you are having sex, there is the risk of pregnancy, and not all women show symptoms in the beginning, that's why some women or girls when they do find out they are pregnant & have their first ultrasound, are 8 or 10 weeks along. However, there are other reasons for delayed periods, you are only 17 & mentioned that your cycle is not regular to begin with, so this could be a time when your cycle is off. Stress is a big factor in missed periods for women, if you are stressed in school, or at home, in your relationships, or just with life in general, this can cause you to miss your period. I would take a home pregnancy test to determine whether or not you are pregnant, if it is negative, wait two weeks to see if you start, if not then I would talk to your mom about getting you in for a pap smear to make sure there is not another reason for your delayed cycle. If you are pregnant, you have to talk to an adult you trust, friend's mom, school nurse, school counselor, about your options. I hope this helped, Good luck to you! I'm on here all the time if you need someone to talk to, no matter what the results are ok.

Thank you for taking your time to read my thing! I've just been really stressing about it, and I'm scared to take a pregnancy test. I've talked to my boyfriend about it and I told him if I don't start this week then I will take one for sure. I just don't feel pregnant. And my mom has been already questioning me on why I haven't started in a while. Only time will tell I guess.
