I am a 34 year old woman and have the same exact issue but no one seems to know what it is. My husband says that my legs get so hot that you would think I had a fever and they sweat as well but it's only from the waist down and began about 5 years ago. Do you have any issues with your blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, Diabetes...etc).

This is almost exactly what ive been experiencing! I've never had RLS but, I have been on Zoloft for the last few months and every so often at night, and even sometimes during a nap, my legs sweat. They don't get drippy wet, but it feels clammy, and in your bed that's kinda annoying, unless you're doing something to get clammy...lol Seriously, I too have strange, vivid dreams!

I'm a 47 years old female  never was on any medication and this sweating first started when i was 44. It would happen a week prior to my period coming on so I figured that i was just experiencing perimenopausal  night sweats . I started drinking red clover and red raspberry leaf tea the sweating stopped.  last year  october i found out that i had type 2 diabetes and i don't know if that has anything to do with the sweating but it has resumed. The sweating is so bad that i wake up and jump out the bed thinking that my period came on or either i urinated on myself.  maybe this is hormonal or from the diabetes i don't know but it is a nightmare .

I am a 39 yr old male and have had leg sweats at night for the last couple of years. Not daily but frequently During a week, it would keep me awake for hours trying to regulate the sweating/chilling effect.

Recently I changed my diet , very clean eating, no dairy, no wheat, a lot less sugar, no processed food at all,  very minimal chemicals. Not easy but I am doingreally good with her help.

the first thing I notice was my leg sweats are GONE. Almost on the first night.  after 10 days of no leg sweats I had to research why and I found this thread. we need to talkabout our food possibly being the link.

Please consider it, it very well could be your diet. I changed mine and the fact I get a full night sleep with no leg sweats for 10 days is amazing.

this is just supposed to be a 14 day challenge by my wife, but feeling the benefits so quickly I may never go back.

Hopefully cleaner eating is the cure for me..... It could help anyone of you.

i wish you all the best in finding what works for you.

Hello all. 28 year old female- the leg sweats just started happening to me and after reading this it makes sense because I just started taking an anti-anxiety pill too. Must be the meds. How annoying. Happy I'm not alone!

I've had this leg sweating issue for a few years now. And For MEN, i've come up with a pretty good solution. I don't take any meds, nor do i have any medical conditions that may cause this. What i do know, is that my body is like a heater. Im an average 5'11 175 lbs lean build of a guy. For some reason i tend to sweat a bit more than most of the people i work with, i also work indoors at a restaurant. My legs do the sweating thing pretty bad at night but ONLY If i let my legs stay closed together. My solution has been dabbing my inner thighs and crotch area with baby powder before sleep. OR. Making sure my legs do not stay closed together for too long in the night. I am also hairy, so i feel like that is part of the problem.

Female, 23 y/o, BMI of 18. My shins have been sweating the past three nights. I'm a very light sleeper so I wake up every 40-60 minutes to find them drenched. It stops a couple of minutes later. It's winter so I have a lot of blankets on the bed, but the rest of me isn't warm. Before I go to bed, I get tingling/numbness from the knees down.
My kidney function has been 'borderline' for years. I don't have diabetes, I've never been overweight, and I've never had fillings. I'm a vegan and I'm not particularly stressed. I take a few medications, but I took Zofran (anti-nausea wafers) a week ago so I think this may be the cause.
I don't know what to do to stop the sweating other than waiting and seeing if it diminishes between doses. Maybe my body will adjust.

The answer is: Your legs are warm and are trying to cool down. Hence the sweating. Sweating is normal. Also, localized sweating is normal as well i.e. armpits. You are fine.
