I am a 45 year old man and I have had this sweaty leg syndrome for a long time. It is super annoying. Sometimes the sweat is literally dripping in buckets off my leg. Than once they stop sweating they become freezing from being wet. Getting old sucks. Ha ha. I am on Paxil and I have heard that is a side effect. I am also on cholesterol medicine and I don't know if that is a contributing factor as well. It happens a few times a week I have never thought to document when it happens and if there is a correlation with drinking alcohol but I will keep track and see if it happens on nights when I consume alcohol vs nights when I dont

I am 67 and no med change. I wake up with wet puddles under my calves and have never had this happen until 2 months ago. I thought it might be my memory foam mattress but I have had it for 3 years. I bought a special mattress pad that is supposed to keep you cool but it does not help. I keep the heat on 65 at night and only have a sheet and blanket on the bed ( I live in California). I am stumped too.

Yes! I had the same leg pain as a child. Used to hold them and cry, we figured it was growing pains. Now I'm having the night sweats and have noticed it's primarily my legs that are sweating. I have a appt on Monday.

Hello,
Yes I also get this most nights, I,m 50 years old and female. I thought it was menopausal?! It's really weird! Why at night? My room is also cool and bedding is normal for winter in UK.
I never used to get it on the pill........or when I was younger.
Only in very hot weather and then it was just my back and neck. sweating which is pretty normal in humans? Lower legs is very odd I think?!

Many thanks. Just wondered why my lower are trying to cool down when I am lying down and sleeping? Yes sweating is normal but after physical exertion normally or in excess tempertatures when body is trying to cool in hot weather. Still do not understand why at night.....yes I know the typical assumption is after sex!!? You would normally be correct.here. But this is not ALWAYS the case honest!

There is a very big possibility that you are allergic to the Prozac. I was on this for years & was having mild hot flashes & night sweats plus teeth clenching. When my dose was increased it got worse to the point that I went to my doctor. I didn't know at the time it was related to the Prozac. Luckily I have an amazing GP who picked up that about 2% of people get these symptoms from Prozac. It's not mentioned by the pharmacists because it is so rare.
Once taken off it & put on same thing else the night sweats disappeared.
Hope this helps.

I have been on the same ant-depressant for some time. Why all of a sudden does this happen? I sleep with pjs on to absorb the sweat.

Hi! I recently starting having the leg sweats with no reasoning to go off. The only relief at night is to take off the blanket. I also have been having an intense combination of dreams. I was thinking it was menopause but maybe not..?? Does anybody know what it could be?

I have been experiencing leg sweats at night for a while now and I am not on any anti-depressants however; I have had a tumor removed from my thyroid. It was non cancer but I am wondering if that could be why I am having the legs sweat. I also have restless leg syndrome. Saw my doctor today and told her but when she said she has never been told this before I decided to research and came across this site. Now I think it is more thyroid related.
