In traditional chinese medicine, night sweating has a couple of different causes, but is most often associated with a is Yin deficiency. Night sweating all over the body is normally a Kidney Yin deficiency, while night sweating that only affects the legs would most likely be Spleen (inner legs) or Stomach (fronts of shins) Yin deficiency. This may sound strange to people not familiar with chinese medicine, but I post it here so you can be aware of a system of medicine to which these symptoms are not so unusual. If your medical doctor has ruled out the more serious causes of night sweating, you might consider seeking out a chinese medicine practitioner in your area. NCCAOM is the accrediting board for all states except CA & NM and can tell you what to look for in a practitioner. Additionally I would suggest someone who is certified in both acupuncture and herbal medicine as this condition generally suggests an imbalance that's been developing for a long time and may require herbal treatments to reverse.
