I have a numb fingertip with sometimes a tingling almost like little shocks on one side of the fingertip. It has been like that for over a week. It is in my middle finger of my left hand. I don't really work hard with my wrist. I have had cervical disc problems in the past, along with surgery and fusion of the cervical spine. This fingertip symptom is new. Even though I don't do a lot of work involving my wrist do you think I could have Carpel Tunnel? Is that common?
It could be carpal tunnel or it could be related to C7 nerve issues. I would definitely see a Dr. and have it checked out given that you have had cervical problems in the past. I know that my neurosurgeon sent me for nerve testing to rule out carpal tunnel prior to scheduling my surgery as it is possible to have problems with both.
