I was diagnosed with Broncheostasis years ago and have spent much of the past 5 years on antibiotics fighting constantly recurring pseudomonous. Last summer I had a resection of my left lung to hopefully cut out the area of my lung that was where the "bug" was hiding, an area of dead tissue I was told was caused by a bout I had with pneumonia as an infant. Two months after the operation the pseudomonous returned and all my pulmonologist keeps doing is subscribing me to more antibiotics, I am currently on 750 ML Cipro 2X/day. The only alternative he sometimes talks about is to undergo a secongd lung resection but keeps hoping the antibiotics eventually will work. I'm scared and am tired of constantly spitting up this ugly green monster. Please help!
I don't have any answers for you just wanted you to know you are not alone, Reading your post was a little relieving to me I thought I was the only one in the world with this problem. It is so drepressing to go to the doctor and get no answers at all. Tired of coughing all the time.
