Hi there. I was just interested in knowing how long oxycodone usually stays in one's system? I have been on the medication for a while (following an accident) and recently have cut back my dosage because I am beginning to feel better. I also was wondering how long I should be off the medication before I could drink an alcoholic beverage (not in excess). I know that simultaneous use is a mistake, but I remain unsure as to whether the medication needs time to get out of my system before alcohol can be ingested. Thank you for the help.
Oxycondone will be detectable at some level in your system for some time; several days at least. However, with respect to interacting with alcohol, you should be able to resume drinking within 24 after your last dose without any side effects. Wait 48 if you don't feel comfortable with the 24 hour time frame.
