Pain after urination

So for almost two years now, I've found that after I go to the bathroom(urinate) that there's a burning feeling and it feels like I have to go again. The pain isn't after Everytime, but it is extremely painful sometimes, and has stopped me from doing activities before. Usually all I do is sit down on my bed and wait it out, but its getting really annoying. My mom says I'm overreacting and I don't need to see a doctor. This has been going on for almost two years. I have read about cases similar to this, but they all said things like 10 days, and that makes me worry if I should have gotten it checked out sooner. I'm wondering what I should possibly do, and what this could possibly be? Thanks for your help.
