just yesterday i was fingered my bf and yes im still a virgin and although he was rough and it did hurt i didnt seem to mind it ..and i know that spotting and pain can be caused from the hymen breaking ... but is this the only thing that can cause spotting and pain..and how long can the pain last for?

He may not have broken your hymen. You say he was rough, so he probably cut you with his fingernail, which is common during rough fingering.
I suggest you don't insert anything into the vagina until it heals. To help it heal and reduce the changes of infection, go to a local health food store and buy ASAP or Silver Biotics gel (same product, different name). Every time you pee, or at least three times a day, put a small dollop of the gel on some toilet paper and wipe. Try to open the vaginal lips to get the gel in a little deeper. This should also soothe any pain that you may be feeling, as well.
Make sure that any time he fingers you from now on, it's not rough. The tissue is very tender and rough sex and sexual activity is actually not healthy. It can cause injury and increase likelihood of urinary tract infection.

It sounds to me like he was just too rough, and probably careless with his fingernails. It should heal up in a day or two.
