I have had these same symptoms for years and they come and go. its worse after child birth and I have just had my third baby and its back. Previous times I have taken medication for urgency and it's helped the symptoms greatly, but this time I have to wait till I stop breast feeding. Reading the posts it seems there's no answer to the problem. Has anyone else used detrisoltul or ditropan for these symptoms
Curious to know, how are your symptoms now?
I feel your pain - literally!! I too have had urinary problems all my life. I have had IVP's, cystocopy's (just had another one), urethra stretching (this is pure torture) sonograms, and everything else - all without any resolution. I have had more UTI's than I can count and severe symptoms even when I had no UTI. I follow all the rules (front to back, void after sex, no perfume soap cranberry juice yada, yada, yada) to no avail. I have been on prophylactic antibiodics, antibiodics for a true infection and so much pyridium its a miracle I'm not yellow! (lots of ruined panties though). Now that I am middle age and have the "leakage" issue, I can actually feel the urine drip down into the urethra and it burns like heck - but tests show no infection. I am beside myself and I really try to limit the coffee and wine but it doesn't seem to matter. The pain will come out of nowhere at any time!. Any ideas would sure be helpful. My urologist says "it's your weak spot". I'm getting ready to ask for a permanent catheter.
It won't be herpes - HSV most unlikely to cause bladder issues. Has anything helped since your post?
Hi there, Can you please share this information with other forums, I.e pass on the knowledge. Recently, I suffered the same symptoms described by others and took several courses of action which did not help. As a science graduate I understand a thing or two about chemical reactions and after considering the problem I hypothesized that a chemical reaction was occurring between residual washing powder in my underwear and my moist peeing apparatus after urination. Remedy: I hand washed all my underwear without detergent, only boiling water, and rinsed three times with cold water. Within 24 hours of wearing the new underwear the weird sensations began to fade. After three day, I only felt the occasional twinge, and after one week, Everything feels normal. P.s I did not take antibiotics or any other drugs at all. Hope this works for some of you as it has for me. Good luck guys.
Mine started with itchyness around the urethra for a week or so, then I had a heavy feeling in my bladder I thought it was a UTI but no. Got tested for STI's negative and given anti spasm meds didnt work. Its been going on for 9 months now. It comes and goes and is never pain ful it can vary from heavy pressure like something is pressing on my bladder to very sensitive urethra like i need to pee -- Im glad im not the only one, but I need a cure it is really horrible
Have you found the name yet?
well im so desparate im going to check this out
yeah, I'm drinking lots of acidic drinks. I love orange juice. I'm going to try and cut them out and report back. I've been having this pain for a year on and off. Sex is impossible. I also suffer from heart burn, i wonder if my urethra is too... Just ordered some urine strips, I want to see if my urine ph matches how I feel. When I was at the doctor's a few months ago feeling horrible my ph was 5, then when i finally was able to see a urologist things had gotten slightly better and my ph was now a 7. Feeling bad again and i'm so curious to know what the ph is.
