So am, I had 2nd injection of steroid 2 weeks apart, the first one after 5 days improved the pain a bit the second one improved the next day BUT I still have problems sitting for any length of time.
It takes a while to walk with out pain in the groin, but it does go eventually.

I'm in similar position. I've used bio oil to massage into the surrounding tissue of wound site where it was tight and lumpy and sore to the touch which is working. Then I went back to full amount of pain relief and anti inflammatory s and started to walk more and more and slowly but surely it's getting better. Wearing support tights has also felt supportive. I still have a bit of a limp but it's definitely better. I've just gone back to work. Still do the exercises you were given early after the operation they do help. I've still got a lot of leg swelling on both sides but hopefully this will dwindle. Everyone is different keep persevering

My hip 2nd replacement was just under 3 months ago. I was in such bad shape before the 1st hip replacement that I could barely make it upstairs to bed. Things I can do now that I couldn't do before:
1) Walk upstairs 2) Tie my shoes with arms on both sides of my legs. 3) Straight leg lifts in a prone position.
4) Sleep on either side. 5) Get up from the middle of the floor with no chair/table assist.
6) Walk without a walker or cane. 7) Climb out of the vertical ladder at the YMCA pool.
I still walk with a slight limp, and have pain on the final hip with weight bearing. I feel tightness in my back on that side also. Today I walked about a mile, which is the furthest I've walked since surgery, and although the pain was present for the whole walk, it didn't get worse. I've restarted limited Pilates, and lap swimming once a week. I'm planning to get occasional massage for the tightness on the right side.

I am 5 months post op for total hip replacement. I had no pain and the hip felt strong after 6 weeks. Then the physiotherapist had me start using green resistance bands and gave me no instruction as to how to use them. After a week of using the bands my hip became really sore and weak. Stopped using the bands but now have groin/butt muscle pain. No longer using a cane but can't walk very far. Saw a new physiotherapist who said the bands were too strong. I am doing new exercises without bands but am in worried I will never be free of this pain. Some days are better than others so I have glimmer of hope that things may get better but pain is bad some days. Surgeon x rayed again and says all is well with the implant.

I can sympathise with you ... I have had 3 THR and 2 THR revisions and also 2 muscle repairs of the gluteus medius ... this has been over last 5 years. My hip dislocated 3 times and I am still not able to put anyweight on the operated leg, have done so much physio that I could teach it, and I'm so over not being able to do what I used to and still use a crutch as my muscle for the operated leg ???
