I feel your pain, pun intended. I had chat to a client of mine about it and he recommended that I strengthen the back muscles and the abs. They are may weakest point, that is for sure, despite the work I do out doors. I use to do weights and I guess I never had the problem before. If I had time and a warm swimming pool to swim in, I would be thinking of doing that Marcus as it is a good all over work out and low stress on the body and joints if your not use to working out I guess. Are you a heavy coffee drinker like me. 3 to 4 a day, plus Coke cola? Just trying to think aloud here as to possible causes as I finish another mug of coffee.

Hi Marc,
I had a comprehensive read of that site and thank you.
The only thing that was not mentioned and that everyone here mentions is the serve pain in the lower back. But the test they mentioned (24 hr urine test ) is and easier enough course of action to at least eliminate pheochromocrytoma. As yet still not been to the Doctor. I take my dog to the vet more then I go to a doctor.

I get this same pain too. The symptoms sound similar, however I don't think driving had much to do with the pain. Mine when it happens always occurs when adrenaline has coursed through my veins. I tend to think of it as a "Adrenaline Aftershock". The pain is exactly the same where most of you are describing. I've tried to do some investigation on this myself and saw some info on adrenal depletion. Maybe in our case we overtly produce adrenaline. Or maybe since most have said something with anxiety, that perhaps the situation caught our adrenal glands of guard. There have been some situations where I've had a adrenaline rush when I tried to think about "why am i having one now?" I dunno but it seems very common. Btw 27yr male. In decent health, have lower back pain other. Never had any kidney problems. Had gall bladder removed, and was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome when I was younger. Maybe listing this, will help us find some connection. Good luck, and good health all.

I can't believe someone else has this happen! I too Haverhill pain that goes from my back to my neck at times of high stress or anger, etc. It is dibillating, and my neck feels frozen. I also have started getting extreme high blood pressure while sleeping. I know this had to be adrenal related.

i have been experiencing this problem for at least the last 7 years. i am 29 years old and take lisinopril for blood pressure but only for the last 3 years. i am in good health other than the hypertension and have had extensive cardiac and kidney work ups because of the hypertension. when i mention these symptoms to drs i usually get this look like they think i am nuts. its great to know that others have had this problem. it also happens during orgasm, which as you can probably imagine kinda puts a damper on the mood.

Pulsating stabbing pain to both kidneys after intense situation.  Stabbing pain usually last 10 - 20 seconds or so.  Both me and my father have experienced this.  He has had these episodes when deer hunting from a tree stand.  Comes on after he has shot a deer.  I've experienced it after car racing a stranger on the street.  It is a severe stabbing pain to both kidneys, pulsating with every beat of the heart.  I agree with many of you, it has something to do with adrenaline and sitting down.

I am 66 years young and have had this same problem for years since I was in my late twenties ... just on really upsetting or worrisome occasions... it does all the same things to me as well as you people have explained . I  have never said anything to my doctors and have lived through breast cancer , with Chem & radiation  treatments ... and nothing has ever been said about it  to my doctors .... and I am still living and it hasn't killed me so don't  stress about  it too  much and just try your best not to get yourself so upset , about things ... The best medicine for this is learn to relax ... Take yoga classes and calm your self down . Lyn G

I have a cousin who kept passing out from a blood rush to the heart. He had this for years until a smart doctor saw this as a valve problem. Most doctors don't look at this. I believe one valve was made to constrict the flow. He has had no problem since this operation. Hope this opens a door for you.

I have had the same pain, started in the last few years. Stressful situation with lower back pain. It happened yesterday at a funeral. I have always been an adrenalin junkie, but this is painful. As soon as I feel it coming on, I focus (really concentrate) on relaxing my whole body, the pain subsides much quicker. If I don't do this it tends to linger. Note: I noticed it happens when I am in a sitting position or when I sit down right after a stressful situation. Good luck everyone.
