I had a LEEP procedure 11 weeks ago to treat moderate dysplasia because of HPV. About 2 months before the surgery I felt pain in my cervix and absolutely could not withstand the pain of having sex with my boyfriend. 6 weeks after the surgery eveything was fine then I had sex with him again and it was still very painful. Obviously the LEEP did not help with the pain. There is now a constant burning sensation. What else could it be? It recently has been getting worse and worse, and I am not having sex.
I just had a hysterectomy for this reason (hpv-severe dysplasia, had leep, and have had pain w/sex for years) The painful sex is called dysparunia. They think it is caused by a very sensitive cervix or uterus that is "bumped" during sex. At first they will have you try having sex without full penetration (kinda hard to accomplish all the time) and may have you try this numbing cream (but that usually causes you to not really enjoy sex cause you feel nothing...but until your finished having children and can have the uterus and cervix removed, not much can be done... I lived with the pain for 22 yrs...I may need to have another surgery to remove my ovaries too Because I still have pain and he thinks its the ovaries that is the cause now as its only 2 spots.
