my husband experiences this overwhelming pain in his neck, left arm and in the area around his heart. These symptoms are sporadic and appear after he has had an unusually large meal. aside from telling him to stop eating large meals...could this be something else? should he see a physician?
I would seriously consider seeing a doctor. Regardless of the cause, which could be very serious, if the pain is truely overwhelming, a doctor needs to be seen.
Hi concerned wife,
the symptoms your husband is experiencing, as poster before me said, are serious enough for him to be examined by physician. Not only do they sound like it might be some heart related problem, but, like it or not, it definitely might be something closely linked to meals. This strong pain often happens when somebody suffers from gallbladder disease, whether it's the gallstones or not.
Gallbladder attacks do often come after meals, not necessarily large, but heavy and fatty ones, because gallbladder secretes digestive fluids. So, if there are gallstones, they cause the pain. This is something that is treatable, as well as common heart problems are, but only if your husband and you know what you are dealing with. So, he needs to get checked.
