I have recently lost some weight (without trying)...and I am suffering from episodes of severe pain in the upper abdomin (where the ribs meet), I have also been to the OBGYN...(waiting on test results from ultrasounds...during an internal Dr found something growing in my uterus)....when the episode occurs (3-8 times per day)...I am unable to function through most of them....have to lay down from feeling weak, I feel bloated and often throw up...(flu like symptoms)....occassionally suffer from diarhea with it.....and some headaches.....the oddest symptom is that I also get an itchy abdomin and often itchy feet! Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?
This sounds so familiar. For 5 years (I know exactly when it started because I was pregnant with my daughter) I've been suffering sporadically with the same.
The pain is EXCRUCIATING and its like a vice is gripping right exactly where my ribs meet and through to my back.
The pain gets worse and worse until its intolerable and I'm sick. The pain usually goes instantly. But by then I'm exhausted and need to sleep.
I've been to the doctors about 5 times and they tell me its classic indigestion and give me Gaviscon.
I had it this week for the first time in over a year and went to a new doctor as we've moved house. He prescribed a different tablet, told me to provide a stool sample, a blood sample and if nothing came back from those he would send me to have a camera down my throat.
At last i feel like a doctor is taking me seriously.
i came across your post because my stomach has been so itchy tonight that I've googled "Itchy stomach".
Let me know if you find out what it is - it sounds so similar...
xx
PS I've just noticed your post is in a pregnancy forum - I'm definitely not pregnant!
