So, really not sure what to do now. Might go for the injection, hope it stops my periods completely, and just hope for the best!

However, im open to the idea that it might not be endometriosis and something else.
otherwise, doctors often get things wrong and i would not rule out that you dont have it after you had the lap. they might have missed it behind the bowel or something, dont trust that all doctors are competent in what they say or advise, because there are many who get things wrong..

I can't say if I think you or I have endo or not, thats up to your doctor to tell you. At least this is could provide some potential relief for you until you can see them. Best wishes!

I am a 34 year old mother of one by emergency c section (a common link in many of these posts?!). After my son was born I had an IUS fitted (an IUD that produces hormones that halt menstruation for as long as its fitted) and although I had extremely heavy & irregular menstruation before this I never had pain. However since having the IUS removed I have had the intense stabbing pains in my abdomin & rectum when having a bowel movement.
I will definitely be making an appointment to see my doctor after reading through this thread but I also think the advice on diet & exercise is worth heeding as I know I fall short in both these areas & it can't hurt to try and be healthier (the opposite hopefully)!!
I'll keep you posted on any outcome.

Regardless, I feel very strongly that I DO have endometreosis - because nothing else can explain all this pain!
I envision my pain as if a good handful of polished rocks of odd shapes and sizes like baby footballs or really big chicken eggs have somehow been relocated to my bowel tract. When I change positions, stand up, sit down, run, walk, bend over, the rocks are all forced into new positions and therefore stretch and poke and push my guts around causing this stabbing unbearable pain. The gas seems to be the worst. 9 times out of 10 the worst of the pain is right around my rectum/anus - the MOST in discomfort!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one experiencing this. I'm not too happy though that there isn't any established cure for it. I can't do birth control because I have a blood mutation (Leiden Factor V) and I've had a DVT (Blood clot) before. I do have a Paraguard IUD which surprisingly did not overwhelm me with even more painful cramps. Prior to my IUD I had the kind of pain that would make me immobile. The first few mornings of my periods I'd be late to work just paralyzed in bed - it would usually pass before lunchtime or late morning. Fortunately (or not) my periods were so irregular I would only have about 4-6 a year, that is without any sort of birth control or medications. I've never had any children, and never been pregnant.

Oh my gosh I can't believe other people go through this. I'm so glad I found this. I seriously thought I was the only one in the world. I have been dealing with this pain for 6 years now. It started my senior year of high school. Later that year my first semester in college I got excruciating pain in my right abdomen and went to the ER. They thought it was appendicitis, but did a scan and told me I have cysts on my ovaries and that one ruptured. Since then I have seen 3 different gynos and no gyno has ever seen any cysts on my ovaries. I had been on birth control regulary this entire time. I have also gotten annual paps and never had any abnormalities. I have told the gynos about the pain (it never went away it comes and goes) and she suggested the GI doctor. So now I have my first GI appointment next month. I don't think mine is endometriosis because wouldn't they have found some sort of abnormalities by now? Every pap comes back fine, as well as every ultrasound they've done. I've seen 3 different doctors and same answer every time. Is there anything GI related that could cause this?
If you do have endometriosis they cant see it on ultrasound or tell you have it from paps so it is very likely you may have it!
