I had my gallbladder removed a year ago. Unfortunately I had a bile leak and needed a stent put in. The stent apparently poked my pancreas and caused constant pain. I lost almost 15lbs in a month and a half. The stent was then removed. I eat a low fat diet...no fried foods, no red meat, low fat dairy etc. Recently I started branching out a little more in my eating. Periodically I have trouble digesting something and have to run to the bathroom. Yesterday my sister made a sandwich for me that was suppose to be lowfat. About 2 hours after eating it I was in tremendous pain. My left side and across my back ached and I felt like I couldn't take a deep breath. By 10 p.m. I was feeling somewhat better. Today I am afraid to eat. I had dry toast and a banana this morning. Any suggestions?
I don't know what to say...I have the same problem....I know fats are a no no and of course fried and deep fried foods but I think for me it's wheat and any carbohydrates like potatoes and I'm even thinking rice causes problems...most of the time I don't know what to eat and I am constantly going between fasting to get back on track and then I eat and I have to start all over again...it's very depressing for me and I give up on what to eat....I have noticed that if I am put on antibiotics in a few days I can eat anything and not have a problem....I am waiting for an ERCP so the doc can go in and see what the damage is....my gallbladder was removed nearly 40 years ago and I have been bitching and complaining ever since that I didn't feel good....the docs just thought I was an hypochondriac until the ultrasounds and ct scans started showing fluid where the gallbladder was and calcifications within my pancreas...very frustrating.
