I am 32 yrs old and I have had PCOS since I was a teenager. I went 10 yrs without a period and finally went to the doctor to get that fixed. The doc put me on birth control to regulate my periods and it only worked for a few months and then it quit. So for the 7 yrs I was married to my ex husband we were never able to have children. I have a new husband that I have been with for 7 yrs now and my period was always the same. I would have it one month and then skip 3 or 4 months. On May 2, 2009 I found out I was pregnant but I didn't find out until it was to late and I was having a miscarriage. I was not on any medication, it just happened. That was the worst day of my life, I just wanted to die with my baby. My period has been normal since the miscarriage, I hadn't missed a period until Feb. of this year. I missed that month but I had it in March. It wasnt normal, it only lasted 2.5 days. This month I was spotting brown, it lasted for 9 days then I got a clear mucus that lasted for 1 day. I have been home from work the last 2 days because I have been feeling sick. Im very emotional, bloated, headaches, backaches, my nails are growing like crazy (I havent been able to grow nails for my entire life except when i had the miscarriage). My body feels very different then normal. Right before I had the miscarriage my breast were very tender but they are not right now, they feel heavier than usual. I took a home pregnancy test yesterday it was negative but I dont think it will show up on a home test. I think Im going to have to take a blood test to find out for sure. If anyone knows what could be happening to me please help. I have always wanted to be a mom and it breaks my heart on a daily basis that Im not a mom. If no one can help thanks for listening anyway.

My name is Amy and i am 27 years old. I was diagnosed with PCOS about three years ago. My fiance and i have been having unprotected sex for a year and a half now. I would only get my period twice a year until three months ago. I have had a period every month for the last three months on time. I have also had signs of pregnancy but the tests keep coming back negative. I was wondering if ne one knew if it was possible to have ur period every month while ur pregnant and pcos. If ne one can help me i would greatly apperciate the info.

I"m so glad I found this site! I was convinced that I've gone bat sh*t crazy!!! I've got every pregnancy symptom imaginable, yet every hpt that I've taken is negative. (2 in Feb, 2 in May, 1 in Aug) My boobs have gone from a 36B to a 38C, my areolas are huge, I have montgomery tubercles. I even have what looks like colostrum when my nipples are stimulated. I've got the huge blue veins all over boobs, stomach, arms, legs. I've gained 20 pounds in the last 6 months. My stomach is big. At the end of the day if I've been on my feet most of the day my ankles swell up. Certain smells make me gag. I've got back aches. I'm an emotional wreck out of the blue sometimes, just start crying for the silliest reasons. And I have abnormal hair growth. (man hair) My arms, hands and even fingers, feet and toes. Hair on my stomach! If I were actually pregnant I would calculate it at being 28 weeks, because back in February I was certain that I was pregnant, despite 2 negative hpts. The dr even did a blood test, also negative. But I had morning sickness, food aversions, moody to the point that I kicked my boyfriend out of our house. (Packed up all of his &*^% and told him I never wanted to see him again.) I've had my period every month, and I even had my tubes tied 3 years ago. I had 7 miscarriages before having 2 DD. My OB never gave me a reason for the mc's just put me on progesterone to have 2 successful pregnancies. So I've been 'arguing' with myself for the last several months, it's not possible for me to be pregnant. But how/why am I having all these symptoms. I was convinced that it was all in my head, and that I was headed for the funny farm if I told anyone what I've been going through!! So what a relief to find that I'm not alone!!! So I will be making an appointment with my dr next week!!!
It sounds like you are pregnant! I pray that you are. I know your desire to be a mom because I have the same desire... It will happen for us keep your chin up and go to the doctor. I hope you get good news!!!
Wow, I'm so glad I stumbled on this blog b/c, I was diagnosed with pcos when I was 16 & when i was 18 I was also diagnosed with a pituatary tumor so my gurl stuff is so messed up, I'm 27 now & until this year I have gone years without a cycle, ive had depa jump start, but since may all of a sudden, i've been having my cycle monthly, its been hard and extremely painful, my husband and I aren't trying to hard to have a child but I have never been on birth control & we don't use protection, but I have the same symptoms i'm reading ya'll have as well, sore breasts and because of my tumor im actually lactating, morning sickness weird cravings, lower back pain, last week, I was in a lot of pain so I thought I had an ovarian cysts, then I started my cycle, of all my cycles i've ever had this one was off, I was in so much pain but I spotted for only like 4 days, and last time, I had a two cycle, and i freaked myself out so we got a pregnancy test and negative as usual, & here I am again a month later same symptoms except a lil stronger but I don't want to make a big deal and go get a pregnancy tests only for it to say negative. I don't understand it, I was on bromocriptine when i was younger, for my tumor & it can help with fertility but for some reason, I'm never pregnant. Its really upsetting actually, because I thought i was the only gurl in the world that was this off, having all these pregnancy symptoms, getting all freaked like i could be pregnant, yet never am. Its frustrating, everyone thinks im crazy cuz i have all the symptoms, and i don't wanna keep spending money on tests that are negative. sigh..It seems like all of my friends with pcos have had no trouble concieving, if you've found anything thats helped or you've been able to get pregnant pls let me kno.
hi my name is rachel ive been diagnosed with pcos for over 10 years i also convinced myself i was going mad, all the prenancy symptoms yet every home test i took was negative. i eventually went to the gp after 3 months and had a blood test taken which was also negative the dr then prescribed me with gaviscon for heart burn an wind, went to the gp another 3 months later and the dr confirmed i waas 6 months pregnant i now have a healthy 7 year old boy. same thing happened again with both tests and after 4 1/2 months found out i was pregnant again i now have a 4 yr old girl, there is hope for u yet wishing u luck for the future xx

Same problem as everyone else but when you had the ultrasound is that how you found out you were preg?
I have had pcos for years. everytime I am going to bleed I will get every pregnancy symptom in the book. i use to run out and buy tests cause we were trying, I even get morning sickness. I went to a pcos specialist and He said that its all part of pcos. its cause your hormones are flucutating in such swings that it mimics pregnancy. blood tests can't be wrong, pee tests can, but not blood tests. my suggestion find a doctor that specializes in infertility and pcos and meet with him or her. i just had a little girl girl a year ago and i thought i would never get pregnant again it was a lets try clomid and if it doesn't work we will give up. good luck to you all. also if your overwieght which i am, try to lose 5% of your total weight. That helped my symptoms so much. again good luck
I'm 19 and was diagnosed with PCOS 3 years ago. I was on birthcontrol for several months and around the end of January/beginning of Feb. I ran out and was unable to get more. I have not had a period since Jan. 19, and these past couple weeks I have had extreme swelling of my feet/ankles and hands/fingers, and I have had severe mood swings. I'm concerned because I have taken 5 pregnancy tests (only 2 of them first thing in the morning, and 3 of them cheap ones), and they have all come back negative. I don't know what to do because I can't afford to go to the doctor. Any advice?
I also have pcos and we tried for a few years and nothing so we went to see a fertility doctor and he put me on metformin and I was on it for less then 3 months and I found out I was pregnant that was two years ago. know we are trying again and im on metformin again for about a month and a half now and I had one period and im due for another one but it is late, but all the pregnancy tests have come back neg so I think it maybe to early but Im going to get my doctor to give me blood work and just make sure as my boobs are sore as they were when I was pregnant with my son, so we will see.. So there is hope so dont give up..
I have PCOS and I got pregnant after not having a single period for about 6 months. I had no implantation bleeding and completely ignored my symptoms (terribly sore breasts and lower back pain was all that I experienced for the most part) for weeks because I figured there was no way I could be pregnant. My mother suggested that I take a pregnancy test after many days complaining about my soreness, so I did and it was positive. Needless to say I freaked out. I made an appointment with my doctor terribly confused. I couldn't tell them when my last period was definitively other than that it was about 6 months prior and that I didn't experience symptoms until a few weeks before I called them. They never did an ultrasound because my blood test showed my progesterone levels were low, but I was estimated to be at 5-8 weeks I am pretty confident it was at the latter end of that estimate. Unfortunately, I miscarried 5 days after discovering I was pregnant, so I'm just here to say it CAN happen but you need to be more observant than I was because perhaps metformin could have helped me and it could have all been discovered and discussed waaaay before the miscarriage and when I discovered that I was pregnant and perhaps had some prevention. Good luck!
The thing I have found with PCOS is not to pay attention to much to the pregnancy symptoms or you will drive yoursef mad. I want another child so bad but I have to know that realistically my chances are small as well as every time that I am going to bleed or my hormones change I will feel pregnant which is very difficult to handle. The great thing is the human body is amazing so I know if I get pregnant my body will protect the baby. Miscarriages are not caused by PCOS they are caused by hormones, genetic malformations, or genetic code problems. For some it just happens as it is not the right time. Please don't do as I have and waste your money on a pregnancy test every time you feel prgnant especially if you are diagnosed with PCOS. I say this cause rarely can one prevent a miscarriage. Knowing sooner only allows you to get on vitamins and seek a medical doctors advice sooner, which in the long run is a great thing, but if your going to miscarriage its going to happen and please don't beat yourself up over this thinking you could have done something to prevent it, it only makes it harder on you. Pcos has been one of the hardest things I have dealt with in my life but with all the struggles I have learned so much. If you are wanting to get pregnant go to your doctor and discuss clomid and progestrone and for some metformin although I got pregnant without this as it made me sick.
