m mother had a car accident and has got pelvic fracture.
she's 5'2 and healthy. she is not fat nor thin. balanced.
the doctor has recommended 6 weeks bed rest and few pain killers.
firstly i want to know if she can fold her legs like ../\ (dots being her feet)
can she lie down on her side if we put pillows on the effected side for support?
it is very difficult to lie down for 6 weeks. we rub her legs alot but she gets tired and they get numb.
because of lying down her back is also hurting.

for washroom we are using adult pampers, so when we have to change we have to slightly lift her from her hip.. is that ok? please guide me cause we're jsut two sisters (age 20 and 16)
I think it is ok for your mom to lay down in any position as long as she doesn't experience any discomfort or pain. You and your sister do need to shift your mom's position from time to time to prevent bed sores. By all means let her sit up for brief periods of time if this is ok with her doctor.

we have a hospital bed at home, so we lift it at around 130 degrees so shes able to see tv and eat.. oil massages are helping the backpain and leg pain. but shes not able to pass stool on bed. we use pampers, they are working great for urine but she's not able to pass stool lying down..
what should we do?

Inactivity can slow peristalsis, resulting in constipation in bed-ridden patients. Make sure your mom is well-hydrated. Abdominal massage can help restore normal movement of the intestine. Xylitol, a sugar extracted from corn, is a very powerful natural laxative. Xylitol can be purchased at any health food store. Dissolve several teaspoonful of xylitol in a glass of water and have your mom drink it. Movement should begin within 8 hours, even when lying down.
