Ok, this is my first post here, never been on this site before just found out andI need help. I have a rash that is developing on my face, neck, upper chest, and I beilieve my groin area too. My foreskin is swollen and lightly red, and my sack has very thick ish skin in some areas and is also very red. It's all really itchy and starting to become raw. I don't believe it is an std because I've never had any form of sex, and I havent bween using any public bathrooms or things which are more likely to spread them, though I won't rule them out. Two more bits of info, I fear that this may be poison oak, as I am very allergic to it and have had to get a steroid injection in the past due to coming into contact with it, and also, I have been working with steel wool the past week, a lot. Do you think its possible the tiny strands could be causing irritation? And just to cover another base the temperature has been in the 13-20's the last week. Please help me, I don't know what is going on, and its becoming harder to sit without and itching, and I have school still. I'm going to try some calamine lotion and I'm going to go out and buy some benadryll first chance I get. Thanks for any potential help.
hmm have you changed the type of soap that you wash your clothes with? poison oak could be a possibility but if its that cold outside I doubt you came in contact with it. as for steal wool (how would it come in contact with your groin?) it could be some type of fungal infection such as jock itch. i would have it looked at by your doctor if the bennedryl doesnt help :-) keep us posted
