How common are recurrences of inflammatory pericardtis? I had acute inflammatory pericardtis 2 years ago. I used antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. I had feeling of chest pain and nausea, like in heart attack. But actually, those symptoms were caused by pericardtis. It lasted about 2 weeks. After the symptoms left, I had no other problems with coronary system. I’m just interested how common it is that symptoms reactivate?

I have information that about 20 percent of patients who had pericarditis have recurrences. They rarely appear within years after the primary disease. They should be less and less severe until they finally stop to appear. You should probably not have reactivation of inflammation any more. Bye.
