Before when i first had my periods i dont have period pains (not that i can remember) but when i started having sex my period just went crazy and become irregular. sometimes i dont get my periods up to 4 months, sometimes i get them twice a week and its really annoying not to predict your period.I first started taking Bc pills when my OB-Gyne prescribed me one when my period didnt stop and i get spottings a lot. I only lasted three months using it because i keep ojn forgetting it. For a while i get regular periods but then it went back to its old crazy rhythm which is not having them and having them as twice in a month. When my period didnt stop again for almost a month, the doctor prescribed me with BC pills to regulate my period and it stopped. But my problem is it ddint regulate my period after a couple of months of taking them. I started getting spottings and light bleeding two weeks before my supposed period. And worst i get terrible period pains to the point that it wakes me up at night and i cant go to work. I have to take two neurofen at once to make the pain bearable. The doctor advised me to stop the pills since it didnt help at all. I stopped it and after 9 long days of suffering from my period my bleeding stopped but the pain remains. Its really frustrating and i dont know what to do anymore. I am scared because aside from not getting pregnant (since I and my partner dont use contraceptives at all before using pills) i still dont know what to do with my period and the hell that it has brought me.
Menstrual pain tends to become more tolerable with age, but when it suddenly becomes stronger, together with all the other troubles you have with your menstrual cycle, I think it’s important to check it thoroughly because I don’t think that only birth control pills are to blame. It also can be caused by some small infection that hasn’t been detected on time. Did your doctor check for things like PCOS before he put you on birth control pills? And chances are that you will have to go back to birth control because that is practically the only way of regulating menstrual cycle. Of course, there are few kinds of hormone-based birth control – the pills you took obviously weren’t the right ones, but this time it’s necessary to do all of the tests before your doctor decides about the type of the pill.
