Hi, I am 36 years old woman. Three weeks ago I went to my doctor on a routine check. He did some analysis. He told me that I have persistent low HDL below 45. Does anyone have some experience regarding low HDL? I would like to know how to increase my HDL level in order to save my health.
There are number of things that you can do to increase your HDL. If you are over weight, try to lose some. Exercise regularly but check with your doctor about exercise program. Stop smoking, if you do that. Use some diet that contains fish, fruit and vegetables. If you do all this your persisting low HDL will be past.

Hi there In my experience even the most strict diet and exercise 5 days a week didn't change my HDL levels. I was in great shape and thin build and there was nothing else i could change. My diet was mostly vegetarian with fish and i stayed away from any processed foods At 22 years old I started taking Ezetrol and added lipidil ez at 27. Before drug therapy my hdl was between 35 to 40. I now have levels close to 90-100. I would suggest changing your diet and exercise first and if there is no change in a few months you should talk to your doctor about combination drug therapy to compliment your healthy lifestyle.
