:-( Hi I am 27 years old,I had read a lot of throat problem here and I would like to share mine which I felt for almost 4 months now. This started when I took up a medication for otitis media.A phlegm is stuck at the back of my throat and I have to clear up my throat every now and then.If I try to swallow my saliva or a liquid I hear that there is a clicking which I cant figure out if its on my throat or my ears. One thing is if I'm sleeping at night time and i try to sidelie on the left my left nostril would be block and also with my left nostril if I side lie on the left.I am already tired of this.I went to a family doctor for 3 times but nothing happen!!
I too have the same problem but i went to see a dr. but they said it's nothing.did you ever find what it was?
I too experience this strange (and unexplainable?) phenomena... It is truly annoying and any effort to rid myself of the feeling I do willingly. I've been to my general practitioner several times about it, but he just dismisses it as trivial. Here is a few things that I have tried, and actually seem to work occasionally.
1. Water. We always tend to dehydrate ourselves, and water/gargling with salt or Listerine does tend to help.
2. Mints/Gum. If you are like me and have problems with your ear "plugging" this always helps.
3. Alcohol (particularly strong). Although the taste is horrible, try and let it sit in your throat for a bit, as it soothes. Not much, just a half-shot or so.
I am 21, male, and there are several things that I have heard may be the case (even though all of symptoms do not match).
1. Acid Reflux GERD. 2. Dehydration. 3. Smoking. 4. Some Vitamin deficiency. 5. Streptococcal. 6. Allergies. etc. etc. etc.
The list really does seem to be infinite, as I have read hundreds of posts about this phenomena, with no general conclusions reached. I would just like to know so I can fix this "not really painful, but very annoying" condition.
