Hey,

if i were you i would go to the doctor. i had almost the same problem but it was just under my arm pit. i went to the doctors thinking maybe it was a swollen lymph node, but it wasn't. it was an infected sweat gland. yours could be something else so i suggest you get it checked out since it is reoccurring but in different spots. Sorry if this doesn't help. i hope that you get some answers!

Hi there, I've no idea what causes them, but I had a large (golf ball-sized) hard, tender lump high on my inner thigh near my groin. It was painful to touch, and I could hardly walk. It was hard, but where the "head" would be, it was soft. I lanced this myself and drained it. All that came out was a dark brown, foul smelling liquid and after a while, dark red/brown streaked with white "pus". After I had completely drained it, I cleaned the area and applied Germoline  ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed*** onto it, and also onto a gauze pad, which I then covered the boil area with. After about 10-15 minutes, the swelling reduced and the pain subsided dramatically. I've changed the gauze once, as the first I applied the boil was still draining and the gauze was soaking up the discharge. Again, apply the Germoline to both the gauze and the boil. I've no pain, and no discharge. A simple solution to something which was rendering me unable to walk!

I had 2 big and painful boils under my armpit when I was 16 and my grand dad told me to eat pomogranete or drink the pure pomegranate juice. I did as he said and both boils were gone within a couple of days.
I got one recently on my leg and drank pomegranate juice and it was gone in less than 24 hours. check it out, you will be surprised what it can do.

This is quite old but about a year ago I got one on my cheek. I went to my doctor and it ended up being like a sweat gland that got infected or something.

All my doctor did was went on popping at it with his fingers for about 10 minutes and got about 2 bottle caps full of like threaded like puss. He said he was pulling it out like it was pieces of shirt. Sorry if TMI. But yeah after he removed all of the puss which was horrible pain, he just put a antiseptic on it for about 2 weeks and a large bandaid and it help up within 2 months. There was a rather large whole or  gash in my skin and there is some scar tissue now. But im glad its over.

I had a pimple start on my face near my mouth.  I tried to pop it, but it never did and now the area is red, hard and parts of the cheek down to the chin look swollen.  It is very sore.  I like the idea of putting a hot compress on it as that is what I did earlier.  I guess I'll keep doing that and taking motrin and see if that helps.  This is a Friday night now, so no doctors offices are open, but if it gets much worse over the weekend, I may have to go to an urgent care center and see if they can give me some advice.

My friend is only 21 years of age and has been getting boils like what everyone mentions but around her private parts as well as her stomach area. After going to several different doctors, we have come to a conclusion that it is stress/nerves related. Thats why they keep reoccurring. She also needs surgery to eliminate some of the problems. currently she has been on antibiotics and pain medication, and trying to stay stress free. aside from that you can also apply warm cloth every 4 hours, bathe for it to soak, apply neosporin and also try to keep the area open so take it off and go commando as much as possible. let it breathe.

Mix 1 spoonful of white ginger and one spoonful of white turmeric (can use regular red kind but it stains the skin) with just enough water to make a paste and apply. Once the paste is dry in the skin flake it off and reapply until you've used all the paste you mixed up. This will bring it to the surface. Don't squeeze! Take a sterile needle ( soak it in alcohol for 5-10 minutes as lighting it wont sterilize it) and gently make an opening near the puss so it can drain without rupturing the skin ( the forcing it out is what causes the scarring), if it doesn't drain on it own heat a moist wash cloth in hot water and Epsom salt, squeeze excess moisture and apply it until the cloth cools. You can do this several times a day without it damaging the surrounding tissue. It usually only takes 3-4 mixtures to draw it all the way out.
The entire body has hair, even a babies has superficial fine hairs. When a hair gets twisted or pushed towards the follicle by rubbing the skin too roughly or even by clothing it can lead to folliculitis (ingrown hair), this is noticeable in areas where the hair is dark but the hair isn't noticeable in areas like the breast or abdomen. Squeezing causes the bacteria to spread under the skin which is why it 'fills up' more than once; and that can lead to carbuncles (deep boils). If a carbuncle forms near lymph nodes such as bikini area and underarms the infection can be picked up by the lymph nodes and carried all over the body. A strong immune system usually kills the bacteria before another forms but with the immune system already fighting off one infection its weakened state means others can form and generally start about the time the original infection starts to show signs of improvement.
Antibiotics may kill bad bacteria that caused the original infection but can kill good bacteria that would fight off additional infections. Yogurt helps balance out the internal part. Foods heavy in yeast (breads, pastas) or granulated sugars will raise the internal bacteria and make your body a breeding ground for folliculitis. It doesn't mean give up everything with sugar but cotton candy and cake icing would be best avoided while recovering.

As a teen I suffered from terrible acne, as an adult I occasionally get one of these boils/pimples.

They can appear pretty fast, a small spot overnight can turn into a huge boil.

I once had one on my upper cheek of my face, when I went to bed it was a small spot, when I woke up I couldn't open my eye the area was so swollen. When I went to the doctor she gave me some antibiotics but she also said to use magnesium sulphate paste on a clean piece of lint or plaster and place it on over night, it will help draw the infection out.

I have done this many times and it always stops it in its tracks if you use it every night for a few nights.

I got one on my breast that I didn't catch quick enough and like others described it was sore and painful and it will peel and leave a mark. Had I done the magnesium sulphate paste immediately I don't think it would have got this far but I will do that now in the hopes it heals faster. Also using the anti bacterial wipes are a very good suggestion. Glad I saw this thread.
